Debating Selling

Hi guys, I keep thinking after almost two and a half years I would like to move on to a different car. The trouble is I and am worried if I sell I may regret it. And getting hold of another pre face black is hard.

Maybe I should test drive a few cars first so I know I'm sure?

What kind of cars have people bought only to want their ek9 back, maybe I'll avoid these ones lol?

Im not after a sensible car maybe just the next step on from the ek9, what do you guys suggest?

I think the problem is, the ek9 is just one of those cars that your always going to want to be driving again. Its cool that you want to try something else, I've done the same thing and hope to own a few different exciting cars over the next few years. But, I know in the end I am going to be back in a 9. Yeah it may be difficult to find a black one in good condition in a few years time but there will always be some around. I say make the most of the other cars that are out there, it will probably make you appreciate the 9 more if you decide you want another one.
 
Sold mine and bought a focus st, nicer car to drive daily. But I never want to get in it and go for a drive down some b roads like the 9. Horses for courses.
 
FN2?

Much more grown up over the ek9 if that’s what your looking for. Relatively comfy, loads of toys, excellent gearchange and you can still blast it about if you want.

Nowhere near as raw as the ek9, whenever I drive my ek9 after the FN its amazing, so raw, low and loud…but I don’t miss it when im driving the FN…if that makes any sense?
 
They do get under your skin, have left ek9's a few times and ended up back in one again.

As you say though go test drive some cars and see what you think, plenty out there :D
 
I disagree with RD55 DUN I'm afraid (only personal opinion :) )

I bought an FN2 after my ek9 was stolen. In my opinion the standard FN2 is not worthy of the type r badge and needs some work to bring it up to speed, so I find myself wanting an ek9 again.

Reasons why:
No LSD for cars pre-2010
Petrol tank is under the front seat so the seating position is way too high
Throttle is electronic and not as responsive as I would like
Rear suspension is a torsion beam axle!
Paint chips too easily
There's 18,000 of them in the UK as opposed to ~ 100 ek9's ;)

Don't get me wrong it's a great car, but in terms of the ek9, I think you would be more suited for an FD2, but they are a fair bit dearer :)

Id agree with all they points.

Flashpro and my Toda makes it a bit better.
 
At least your boy friend did the Evo thing so that's out of your system. Do you need a car as a daily driver?
If your stuck on black pre facelift, looking on my register there is only 7 in UK. One is a track car and one is yours so 5 others available. If you do sell it I doubt you will find another one available.
If you do sell yours it must be the cleanest one out there!

Any BMW costs a lot to run in comparison to most other cars. For example brake discs for my 330 are £66 per disc (eurocarparts). M3 is similar prices.

Just need to take the plunge aslong as you have the bank balance to back it up! Il be getting an m3 next myself.
 
but it's such a clean example of a black ek9 :(
 
E46 M3, been looking at getting one of these, quite cheap now and a very capable car. Plus that straight 6 is amazing :nice:

Plenty in Japan. They are starting to go up in price a lot though :mad:

I would like something relatively unusual still, possibly an exige or something along those lines but would need more funds for that. It would be my daily but not used every day if that makes sense.

I do feel like if I don't try something else then I'll just keep thinking about it. So will see what's about to test drive. Watch this space will see what happens

A DC5 Facelift maybe? I don't know what your budget is but maybe a GT86?

Honestly? I'm against FN2s(FD2 on the other hand.. OMG <3), but that's just my taste/personal opinion..
