Hey,

Looking for abit more power from my civic ek4 b16a, current spec is

J's racing carbon intake
5zigen header (ordered not fitted yet)
Meercat Straight throught 2.5 inch exhaust including decat
Mfactory close ratio gear kit

i dont want to spend loads so have been looking at the skunk2 stage 1 tuner series cams, theses seem to be slightly more aggresive than the ctr cams but at the same time allows me to keep the stock valve train.

looking at options of tunning the cams i came across dastek, my local is in fife scotland so not that far from me, they quoted £500 for the unichip Q with fitting to the car and a custom remap to my mods, it sounds good but after reading through the net seems as if some people have had bad experiences with them.

Any one got one fitted to their car or had any experience with them, as im not going for aggressive cams thinking this could be an option rather than going for hondata

if you know someone who can tune it its good, best thing to do would be start talking to tuners in your area, see what they are capable with...

Dont go to Dastek mate, they have ruined 3 of my mates civics! Honestly. AVA in Glasgow are really good or Jap Performance in the west area.

as said above, dont you dare go to dastek....AKA SPAZtek. they are useless unless you would just like a dyno figure or something, they are actually one of the more expensive companys for chips, and the gains they give you are appauling ( even though they promise high numbers ).

they almost destroyed my mates 500 odd bhp mr2 ( he removed chip 2 weeks after it was fitted when his car started running shite ) and got a different one, car was fine.

and they have destroyed my mates track corsa, the thing shat its pants, ecu was setup competely wrong.

by all means, if you want a dyno figure thats fine....but would i hell be going there for any form of "tuning"
