Hi folks, been ages since ive posted on here, hope everyone's well.

Ive recently bought a Del sol esi with the intention of boosting the D series engine it comes with for some cheap forced induction thrills.

my question is, as its the D16Y8 engine running the OBD2b P2P ecu, can i simply fit a jumper harness and use the OBD1 P30 ecu found on the D16Z6 engine in order to run crome?

also, is there much difference between the two engines besides the management? a friend of mine had a boosted D16Z6 and made good figures on the standard internals. can i expect similar performance with the D16Y8 engine?

thanks in advance :nice:

yes you can use a jumper with an obd1 ECU.

P30 is used with B16A2 and P28 with D16Z6.

Y8 head is different from the Z6 including casting, cam, intake manifold. This would affect your ignition timing and AFR compared to a Z6.

Awesome, thanks for clearing that up.
