Sorry i ment the actual taco stick from the face so i could change the face or do you just put it over the old one?
Thanks for the pics tho man
You just put it over the original face.
If you want to remove the face you have to remove the needle, and like I said, if you do this in the taco, you will break it. I did it before and I had to buy a new one. Later I disassemble the hole thing, and I learnt that the needle axis goes through a magnet that is in the middle of a plastic body that hold the inductors. When you pull the needle up, the axis comes along, and when you put it back on, the axis pushes the magnet and it gets pressed against the bottom, and then the needle sticks when rotating.
Just to clarify, if you see the hole thing form the side, you will see, from bottom up; the circuit board that controls the needle movement, the very delicate inductors that move the magnet, the face and the needle. Now, the axis that goes through the magnet is resting on a ball bearing, inside the plastic case that hold the inductores in place, the only way to open this is by undoing the windings of the inductors, wich have more than 500 loops each (and there are four). As you can see, it is a pain in the ass...
The only way to get the face out is by removing the needle from the axis, while it is on the magnet, but there is no room to grab the axis to keep it in place.
Other thing I learned is that the electronic circuit of the taco is the same for every taco scale, you just have to change a set of resistors that set the scale.
I´m writing all this because I´ve already broken the taco once, and it was a real pain in the ass to get a new one, and it wasn't cheap!
