Hi,
I've bought some ctr cams for my ek4 and was wondering where the best place to get some dual valve springs and retainers?

also when I get around to fitting the cams I was going to replace the lma's & valve stem seals.
do I just replace with lma's and stem seals for a b16a2?

Thanks

I'd be very surprised if the LMA and stem seals are different between the Bseries vtec engines.
Worth checking the valve guides for wear aswell as this is a common cause for the seals to fail in the first place.

okay thanks for that,
would aftermarket valve springs and retainers such as skunk2 be okay for ek9 cams or is it best too go with oem ctr ones?

Iirc skunk2 LMA are abit hit and miss. I'd go new style oem if your set on replacing them.

The B16A intake springs are already double :) . In saying that you should upgrade to Type R springs. I'm pretty sure they're cheap new and they do come up second hand now and then. I wouldn't 'upgrade' to stiffer aftermarket valve springs (unless you do plan on installing bigger cams in the future?). The springs dont need to be any stiffer and they'll only put a bit of extra pressure on the head and retainer over time - it'll be fine but its not worth it, if you dont need to do it.

Definitely replace the valve seals while you're there and upgrade to 'spring type' LMA's too! If you have the right tools you can do all of this without even taking the head off.
