Hello,
I own a EDM EG6 with a spec '98 B18C-r engine and gearbox (S80).
From what I've heard, the clutch is the same one as in the EK9.

Here's my problem:
The pedal feels weak, It's difficult to get it into gear... When I release the clutch to start in 1st gear, the clutch takes earlier than usual and the car starts "shudering" when taking of. I don't feel any pressure, the first 5mm I press the pedal...
I think the Master Clutch Cylinder is gone (as the oil is "sweating" out).
I'm going to replace that one tomorrow.

BUT, I've heard there are some other problems with these OEM clutches...
The springs on the pressure plate can brake.
Can any one tell me what the symptoms are??

Thx!!

Grts Willem.

Pressure plate was first thing I was thinking of to be honest. But it could indeed also be your hydraulic system. Check slave cylinder before master; it's a lot cheaper ;)

Groeten!

Thx man!

I checked both cylinders. The slave is ok (came with the swap, and is 9 years younger and almost half the kms :) ). The Master is "sweating". That one needs to be replaced, no doubt.
But, I think a spring may have been broken in the pressure plate...

Does anyone know what the "symptoms" are with a broken spring??

Thx!!

Turns out, it's what I suspected...
The Master Cylinder is replaced AND there is one/more spring(s) broken in the pressure plate...
Cylinder is already replaced. The car wil go to the garage for the clutch next tuesday... :((
