Civic Jordan #228 (B18C track build)

What kind of lip/overhang you going for Logan?
My last one was 3" iirc but not sure if I'm going to tone it down for the new one.

Coolio! Let me know how stiff it is(that's what she said)
You should be able to stand on it easily, my old 9mm ply I could stand on but was abit delicate and had to have a feet right next to the supports for it not to bend/snap.
Take it you've got the rods for the front?

I'm going to go for 12mm ply I think.
These BYC mounts make the splitters solid but going to get adjustable tie rods for the the front (if I can find any!!)

Yeah I'll be using 12mm next.
I got my last ones from carbonmods.com

My new brackets are from DEVsport.
Bought them before BYC where about and paid through the nose for them.
They come with all bolts and support rods though so not all bad.

Magic I will have a look on their site :)!

First priority is fitting this final drive this weekend so front splitter can wait a week or 2 :D

Well I've got some news.
Track day and set up day at Oulton yesterday with some very interesting results. Front splitter got knocked off after a few sessions, so that was removed. To compensate I had to remove the rear wing as well.
After a few adjustments the result was I was quicker by at least 3-5 seconds and an added top speed +12mph. That's at Oulton where there are decent straights but nothing like Snetteryon etc.
I'll be keeping mine off for the moment, and possibly try it if it rains or the track is particularly poor.

That is interesting!!

Do you think it may be because your rear wing was quite aggressive? Majorly tilted so it was causing alot of drag? Mine is nowhere near angled as much as yours was, so I honestly don't feel any difference in acceleration.

All the fastest N/A civics that do time attack in Japan at Tsukuba all run outrageously big wings but none are tilted like yours was. Maybe try a more flat wing this will cause a bit less drag but still create downforce. Just a suggestion :nice:

Can only be drag causing 12+mph top speed difference.
I'd be tempted to try just the splitter without the wing and see what happens then.
Or like Logan says, much less tilt.
After a certain AOA (angle of attack) you'll actually lose downforce while drag is still going through the roof.
3-5seconds is a huge amount of time that wings cost you!

Yeah I think what Jesse is saying is right with the AOA.

From seeing photos of yours it is very very tilted. I'd try a much less angled wing just slightly tilted but nothing major. Yours at the angle will be like a massive air brake!

Just need to find the right balance on the spoiler, less is more I'd say :)

Out if interest what was the price for the splitter brackets?

Iirc something like £35 from BYC.

It was definitely an interesting day. Unfortunately I couldn't put the wing back on, as they are a dog to drive with wing and no splitter. The wing was quite flat, as it was the same setting as the last session at Cadwell. You are right though, at an aggressive angle it literally is like having the a brake on down the straights. I'm going to take it all with me to Snetterton to try there, but the overall feel of the car "naked" was good.
Ive messaged BYC already to see if they can suggest a compromise, so I might end up with something completely different.

That much? I could have sworn they where cheaper than that, i don't feel too bad about my ones now lol

Just went back over a Facebook message I had with SpennyBYC.
39.99 delivered.....
