Changing vss question.

So my speedo needle seems to just do it's own thing every now and then, and most of what I've read or people I've spoken to, say its the vss, but can anyone confirm whether changing it will re limit my car to 112? Ie is the sensor left alone when taking the limiter off?

The speed limiter is controlled via the ECU so you souldn't have a problem just swapping out the VSS.
