It never really crossed my mind until the other day when i change the spark plugs in the car do they have to be torqued to a certain spec:eek:

manual says 18Nm :nice:

although never used a torque wrench myself fitting them, just be careful to screw them on finger tight first as not to cross thread and them tighten, be careful not to overtighten though!!!

Cool, dont suppose you have a .PDF of the manual man? Have been looking everywhere an all I can find it EJ6:( :nice:Thanks

While we're on the subject of spark plugs i'm gonna be changing mine next service what do you think of spoon or similar spark plugs are they worth the money?

I will check on the ek9 manual today, I hope I can figure out japanese :nerv:

im in ireland and the denso plugs the motor factors said are the only plugs i should put in cost me 60euro.this sound right?

the oem spark plugs you get from honda work perfectly, to be honest as far as spark plugs/leads go you are never going to get much of a performance upgrade!!!!!

thats going by a mixture of an ITR and a VTi manuals i have on pdf, i tend to refer to both, the civic one came in handy for all the torque specs when i rebuilt suspension and other stuff :)

cannot remember where i downloaded them though :((

Rule of thumb on plugs that I have used for years is tighten them up by hand with an extension. then put the rachet on and give it a 1/4 turn. That makes them nice and snug and will be fine.

As for plugs. Denso's are great. Bosch Platinum. NGK make some good ones. Its really up to your choice. I ran a set of cheap £20 plugs in a customers EK9 and he said it ran so great. Then I told him what plugs were in it he couldn't believe me. Had to take one out and show him. He then went and got an expensice set of plugs I cant remember what ones and it ran the same. Maybe the expensive ones will last longer but you see my point.

Yeahs torque specs etc would be really handy! Dont suppose u could upload them to sumwhere? Wud be ace:)
