Car cuts out at 130mph

I'm still operating in km/h - a converter is on my to do list but it doesn't really bother me as I've not been on a track yet and as such the limiter doesn't matter to me. A lot of my driving is town anyway so I'm usually floating about at 50km/h which is about 25mph GPS confirmed.

What is quite interesting is the amount of error present in all speedos, mine included. I often use my Sat Nav when I'm going about my business which has GPS speed readout, you could try get hold of one of them and see the exact speed you cut out at?

 wel i pretty much chopped my fukin thumb off yday so yep still pissed off an cant type an cant exactly help it... wat so every car i've testes it against has speedo issue even if uk an new? and ban me if ya want but if u think i'm goin civic life... ur wrong ek9.org is good site was just tryin2 make ya understand it's not the jdm limiter but hey.... im banned!!

i think wat is ment is your attitude calling people "spak cunts"

and nearly all speedos new and old are inacurate at those speeds i.e 120mph and above

Yes.... speedo readings are NOT accurate. My brand new Transporter is about 5mph out above 80mph. The ONLY way to get a decent idea is with GPS.

huh what a wanker! all these people trying to help you out mate and your giving them grief and attitude like that, then i must agree you should be banned. whos fault you nearly cut your thumb of, none of these so no need to take it out on them!
all these people aren't getting frustrated with your 'spak' writing are they, but your getting frustrated with them because they dont understand what your talking about!

They do tend to run out of steam when you change into 5th. I've only really had about 135-140...on the Autobahn...

Is it an instant jolt or does it feel gradual when you start lagging.

E-EK4 for ban. We dont need people like that on this forum.

I second that. This guy has got the wrong attitude for this forum.

Mate, I've seen your posts over the time you've been here and you're typing is no different now to what it was a week ago, so pull the other one.

You need to change you attitude and put in a little effort to type properly. That alone might go some way to show you actually want to be a useful, contributing member of this forum.

What profile tyres? Depends on the rolling radius.....

I know my speedo over-reads a good bit having 195/50 tyres

I'm not happy with the kind of posts people are making on OUR site. The calibre of members joining alately is sending the site down the pan.

EK9.org was originally setup for enthusiats from around the world to share their experiences/knowlege/modifications etc with this model of car in a polite manner with at least a tiny bit of maturity shown in your replies. Everyone needs to remember that.

All these text-typing abbreviations shouldnt be used excessively, maybe occaisionally at most!

This forum's going to the dogs if we all dont do anything about it, It would be a great start for you all to get straight to the point with your threads, and only post if you have somthing productive to add.

Thankyou to all the members who help keep this forum on good foundations.

With regards to this thread,
The same questions are popping up time and time again and people are not searching!

Most likely the speedo converter is fitted between the speedo and ECU instead of the ECU and gearbox. Fitting it between the latter will de-restrict ASWELL as convert the speedo reading.
