My ek9 cuts out every time i hit 130mph on the clock. It feels like the car runs out of petral.I have had my car de-restricted but im not sure if the right wire is connected to the gearbox. Im sure my speedo cant be out that much. Has anyone had the same problem? thanks

Track, Private road. Just want to know if it is the restrictor or not?

tight ant it... speedo ant out mine has been same ever seen imported sumin to do with the MPH conversion kit used... it's defenatly 130 and im fairly sure it's a ecu fuel cut off that's being used!!

Mine is exactly the same get to about 130mph and it just stops but im only on about 6500/7000rpm so still plenty to go and im told it is derestricted!

Doesnt sound de restricted, mine used to do that with the Limiter on...Oh and your probably actually doing between 112mph and 120mph...sorry lol

speed governor deployed.
what rating tires are you using? should be a hand full at 130mph.

cheers!

sorry m8 but this ant true... tested it many many a time with many different cars to test speed, it's 130 trust lol i get bteween 10 an 15mph changing 4m 4th to 5th flat out then it instantly looses 5mph.. ish wen hit it, ant a nice feeling proper fuel cut off like i said... i've bin over 150 in a vti and over 140 in a ek9 so this ant top end like said plently more revs!!!

This is all completely innacurate info as he could be running 29s on his car for all we know.

Plus after so many years the speedo gets a bit innacurate, especially if its been converted and de restricted.

I dunno, my speedo goes back to zero...well when i say it does go back to zero i mean it went the full way round and the car was still pulling. i think my speedo must be WAY Out

No-one is saying you're wrong. Personally I can't understand what you're typing, but perhaps I'm just a 'spak ****'.

Dunsy is right, speedo's aren't accurate especially when they have been converted and on a 10 year old car too. When they are first built they have 10% +/- on actual speed so you can imagine how inaccurate they are now after all the years and the fiddling.

130 MPH is probably really 112 - 118 MPH and that is where the limiter is set from Japan.
