Hello all I have signed up to the forum to see if anyone can help please I am trying to help my lad fix a problem with his Glanza V, he put an EP82 in place of the ep91 that had packed up and it wouldnt go, he had seen it running before he bought it so we knew it was ok We had some fun and games with the wiring but that's all sorted now and the engine isn't showing any codes, it will need a new harness but thats when we get it running properly however there are a few things i would like advice on if anyone can help please the car does now start up and also has a new battery We have checked the connections onto the throttle body and think they are correct, we did swap pipes two and three around for a short while but swapped them back, i think the vacuum goes to the opposite side of the throttle body inlet thingy which has the MAP sensor? fitted to it and goes into a plastic thing that looks a bit like a filter but i think it is a vacuum. We also had a problem with the knock sensor, it kept showing a code 52 and after changing and re terminating the wiring i found that my lad had through crimped the wiring but had pulled off the screen from the last two foot to leave the inner wire and then connected screen and conductor together on the bit going back to the ECU, i separated these and through tested the circuit and the engine isn't showing any codes now. What is the screen for? The water problem is baffling to me.... We filled the engine with water which seems to keep disappearing, the exhaust manifold isn't sealed correctly and i could see water bubbling out of the top just above the turbo, this happened every time we topped the water up and went away as the level reduced. We have compression tested the engine at running temperature and it is 150psi on all cylinders There was a little water in the boost pipe from the throttle body but i think that may have been from where we had swapped the inletson the throttle body around? The car stalled when the radiator cap had been fitted, not sure what the water level was at this point. i was wondering if the turbo seals had failed and was allowing the turbo to push water into the exhaust manifold, the car was kicking out loads of white smoke but not always. We disconnected the turbo pipes and ran the car which seemed to stabilse the water level and the white smoke reduced. we were thinking of connecting the turbo inlet and outlets together to bypass the turbo to prove the theory, the car has a turbo timer fitted so we thought that it would be ok? Any ideas please? thanks again
