Brakes squeaking!

Hi, i just bought a new car and i realised every time i step on the brakes it makes a high pitch squeeking sound, how come? I look at the brakes they look quite new too. I know sometimes when they are wearing out the make the noise but this one look new the car was rarely driven by last owner. Cheers guys

have you been for a drive and tried the brakes after getting them nice and warm?
 
Actually only been driving it for abit 10 minutes like just ripping first 2nd and 3rd gear and after that testing drive we stopped the car for awhile and i took it home and thats abt it.


Ohh and i just changed new brakes for my civic just this afternoon and the same thing happen o_O its making squeeking sound. Well for my civic i drop it for an hr still has sound though.

Sorry i have 2 cars civic and a integra r (new just bought) =].
 
jack up the car an spin the wheel by hand if it gets hard to turn at one point in a full rotation you have a warped disc this could cause squeeking.

or try puttin some copper grease on the back of the brake pads the part the touches the caliper not the disc as sometimes it can squeek an if u rub a light layer of copper grease it solves the prob!!
 
oki let me try that this weekend when im free see what happens =S. Is this for both the cars?

I just took the civic out for a spin and i realise when i do a left turn it makes noise too o_O

Thats exactly what i was thinking,

pads could also be glazed, if so try rubing them down with a bit of immary paper..If the disk isnt worpped and you have tried everything else, id possibly deal with it or buy a more well known set of pads e.g EBC etc
