Brads 96spec itr

Thanks for the love :) I was in two minds to get rid if it, but glad I preservered through the winter!

The rear lip is an azect original, I think a company in the states make a rep but you don't really see many over here. Once I saw one, I had to get one at all costs! It really does make the back.

where did you buy your azect original rear lip then?

Sorry mine came off the old tegiwa yellow dc2 when it was broken a year or so ago You won't be able to get one new anymore, you just have to be eagle eyed and find one off an import :)

Or as I said they can be found in the states, I think siabon? Makes reps of them.

No problem, I didnt think I would be able to find them new anymore but was just checking.

Cheers

A good mate of mine took the time to do a nice feature of my car on his new website! I know I don't post much on here but take a look & like on Facebook :)

What a really cool DC2 you gave there.

Keep up the great work

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I think it's a bit of hit and miss with some people, but I've tried to keep functionality key :)

It will get a full welded cage over winter, ready for a good hammering next year on track. I've had soo many problems engine wise since I've had it, so Im giving it a few more months to show any problems and regain trust. It feels amazing, I'm just waiting to see what it can finally do. But for the meantime it will be at some shows and events looking clean :)

Nothing much new to update accept I've swapped out the black cannards for some colour coded ones. They aren't in the right place but I need the bumper resprayed to cover up the pesky holes from the old ones

I haven't really updated this thread since october, but I've still been busy collecting bits and pieces ready to work on the car over the winter.

All this work has stemmed around getting a new set of front wheels. Finding 15x7 te37's was hard enough but once i saw a pair of 15x7.5 et25 come up for sale I blasted down to plymouth immediately and picked them up. They weren't in bad shape by any means, but the odd in me had to get them refinished so i dropped them off in jan and he got to work

When i picked then up

And once Paul had worked his magic.

you can really see the concave in this pic, which will look great in contrast to the rears. Having bigger wheels gave me an excuse to also get some new tyres, so got an amazing deal on some r888 in 225/45/15 as they were the last in stock.

All this was well and good, but the problem was these were 5 stud! which is where everything has got slightly out of control :x

From buying some second hand hubs, i now have bought pretty much everything i need for a complete bush swap and bearing change. I was taking it to bits anyway so I thought id better make a proper job out of it.

- new koyo front bearings
- extended arp studs
- extended ball joints
- spc front camber arms
- Hardrace lca bushes and compliance bushes
- new Mtec discs

- spc rear arms
- d2 toe arms
- new oem rta bushes

I striped the front end down today so i can get all the arms sandblasted and powder coat. I also made a start on getting it ready to be properly undersealed, my plan of attack is to grind it all down back to bare metal isn, cover it in expoymastic 121 the finish with some standard undersell. Ive heard nothing but praise for the 121 so lets hope it keeps it fresh for the years to come!

oh I almost forgot:

I was worried I couldn't get the wheels to fit in the arches, so i got these too :) no wonder why I'm skint!

All this has to be finished by april when it goes to tgm to be setup/mot's and resprayed!

Cheers man, I'm glad I've changed your opinion slightly :) before I bought this I was on the hunt for a nice ek9, but couldn't afford it at the time. I promised myself i wasn't to modify it, I probably could have bought 3 now with how much I've spent!

Lovely looking car! I had bronze te37s on my old celica, they looked a bit shabby but no where I took them wanted to refurb them because they couldn't match the bronze. Brilliant wheels!
