I am looking for a set of ingnition wires for the EK9.
Are tje Spoon ones really worth the U$250.
What other would you guys recomend?

Thanks

OEM Honda, if those are too expensive the NGK are good too! I use nothing else and i never will, 333whp 260wtq no problems, I've seen OEM honda plug wires on 600whp cars!

I agree with blinx but I also have had good experience with the Spoon grounding type wires when used in conjunction with an earthing kit.

Without the earthing kit in place, the car did not run any noticeably different, but with it in place, power delivery was smoother particularly lower in the rev range which was nice around town.

Results, I'm sure, will vary from car to car. Mine's a USDM Integra-R.

are the spoon wires like the nology wires? they seem to be similar in design...

HAha... I doubt that Spoon has them made by Nology. I have both and yes they are similar in that sense where they have grounding cables. The nology ones are grounded individually though.

Here's one thing I noted from both. The OEM wires plus the DARK BLUE NGK (JDM) "power cables" "click" into place and are rather difficult to remove. The lighter blue (USDM) NGK cables have a softer sheathing and boots plus they appear to be slightly easier to remove both off the dist. cap and sparkplugs.

The Spoon wires have lighter blue boots similar to the USDM NGK plus and are even easier to remove than the USDM NGK set....while the Nology's, the set I have from at least 5-10years ago are garbage in terms of their ability to properly fasten themselves to the sparkplugs. They have been like this since new.

I have NOT had the opportunity to see any newer Nology examples, but with all the tech invested in them and marketing, I sure hope they finally figured out how to make a proper sparkplug boot.

So , from waht everyone is telling, i should stay OEM, unless they arent working properly.
The difference would be little.

yes.

or you get something like the Ultra MDI or the Tony1 system.... but most people's pocketbooks would be rather unwilling to undergo that sort of deflation :p

yup, the only reason i got NGK is becuase my oem ones were old and too expensive :( i consider. I would have preferred OEM if i had the money back then.

Don't forget to invite AEM to that party, they have there own COP setup now too, i almost got it a few months ago but they can't seem to fix there CDI box's, they just keep blowing up and i don't want to fork over $600-900 for that M&W one...

I have upgraded to the SPOON one from my old NGK. I'm also using Buddyclub condenser.

The difference is just a smoother rise and fall of the RPM. Noticed it straight away. Other than that, it looks HOT!

That's part of the reason I didn't send an RSVP.... :p

i wont lie, it took me about 2 minutes to get that joke, im slow today lol, do you have any experience with reasonably priced ignition box's that actually last?

I think its hard to determine what is better from what or everyday commuting. Unless you have free access to a dyno to note performance. I use the NGK Blue wires, but would love to try out the Spoon's as well...
