ok another small issue for me,

replaced my battery in december/january and i dont know if its from the short drives im using the car for these days as i dont drive it to work anymore . .

. . but the battery seems sluggish to start sometimes like the batterys low on power, but it has never 'not started' yet. for example it did it on me five mins ago, the turnover went so slow as soon as i turned the key so i stopped it after like 2 seconds, waited a moment, then turned again and it started right away but noticed my cd player had reset as if i had removed the battery

then whilst driving, especially with full beam on i can see the lights flick now and again getting slightly dimmer then slightly brighter again

confuuuuused any help appriciated

It cant be the battery itself thats the problem, maybe you have something running that is drawing power from it "parasitic drain" turn everything off before you start the engine.

Check your alternator first with a volt reading. The easiest way to check if the alternator is working is to check the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running should be around 14.5 volts.

Then check for parasitic drain, without the engine running and all electrics in the car turned to off, disconnect the battery negative and bridge the gap between terminal and connector (negative) with amps mode on multimeter i wouldnt expect a parasitic drain of much more than quarter of an amp. if this is the problem it might be due to any wiring you have adjusted i.e. cd player or amps

Check all wiring from battery is firmly connected and the earthing wire too

For me the combination of a car alarm and very infrequent use has flattened one battery already this year, started with the symptoms you've got then one day wouldn't turn at all 

Try going for a long motorway run 30+ mins or so and see if that helps 

a while back before my last battery died and i replaced it, i for a second touched the too leads together while jump starting a friends car and got a spark

could my alternator me buggard?

my battery just fully died there and i needed a jump!
