hi, sorry If this has been before covered, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for,

I'm currently fitting a B18C into my EK4, in a few months I want to go for more power, I would like to stay all motor, as I feel that's what Honda's tuning spirit is all about and there's nothing better than the throttle response of a tuned VTEC engine IMO, plus the noise ;) I had a 300bhp 200sx and still prefer the N/A honda!

My plan was to go for skunk stage 2 cams, springs and retainers, possibly accompanied with ITB's, that is my preferred route, but from your experiance, are the gains worth the cash? I'm scared i'll throw the same amount of money at it that I would for a decent supercharger/turbo setup, for half the gains, does anyone know of any 1/4 mile/ 0-60 spec times for either a teg or civic running a stage 2'd B18 or similar setup?

Also, being a B18CR, compression ratio is 11.1:1 iirc, so for stage 2 cams would the cr need to be upped further? I have a full Tanabe exhaust system, with 4-1 headers, Spoon 70mm TB, skunk2 inlet and an Injen long ram CAI, so air flow will be better than OEM

thanks for any advice :)

As the B18c is high compression I would stay clear of forced induction. ITB's can be a lot of work to set up, meaning a lot of money. I have read that a good intake setup can be just as good with a much lower price tag. Also I think because of which way round the B18 is, it will just be pulling in hot air from around the bay, unless you get a cold air feed which again is more money. ITBs are better off for k-series engines as they are the other way round.

In a similar position to you, you're missing the most important thing about the itb's which is the noise!
