Hi members,
I'm new bie. I'm just coverted my EG with B18CR block, sadly it's just 171hp.

Below detail.
B16A Head already PNP.
B16B cams and Valvspring & Retainer
Piston PCT (81mm) with ITR Crankshaft
Normal b16A Throttle body and Intake Manifold
Gear box EK9 with Triniti Clutch
SARD FR
ECU Rechip (Mugen Copy) and VAFC.
Extractor 4,2,1 with 2.5 piping.
Compression test only 200psi ~14kgF

My target 200hp. What should i do..........................:please:

if you already have a b18c block and basically a B16b head as you say your b16a head had been ported then i really cant work out why its only 171? surely should be nearer the the 200 mark?

In fact if your running PCT pistons on a B18c crank and rod's then you will have a higher CR than normal too so you really should be nearer the the 200 mark. Firstly i'd swap your TB and inlet manifold for at least a CTR/ITR one then re tune it mate

Is it because of my piston ring, i didn't change to new piston ring. My compression on 4 cylinder 200psi/ each. I saw in the others thread 250psi.

i dunno mate...but if your piston rings arent worn then i cant see that being the problem as to why your not making as much power as you should

your compression aint the problem.its probably your ecu chip.mugen copy???is it ebay one?
you should also be running itr inlet manifold and throttle body.what injectors are you using

Is this head swap just to increase compression? Are there any other benefits to this?

Reason being, I have both engines, b16a2 and b18c-r, any benefits to this head swap onto the b18c-r?

he has not done this swap to gain compression...he has just done it cos he bought a B18c block instead of the B16 block. I cant see any reason why someone would put the less spec'd head on a B18c! If you have a B18c block then use the B18c head if you have both obviously! Both head casting's are identical but the B18c has a slight port and polish and obviously the more aggressive valvetrain so using the B16 head wont give any more compression

Thank you for clearing that up...

ECU chip? I use to swap in with another chip, the results still 171hp on wheel. Injector b18CR injector, Fuel pump Walbro. So it is 200psi compression for my engine ok?

My mechanics will recheck the piston again, should i ask him to change piston ring too?

the figure on dynojet or dyno dynamic?
looking to your spec it consider still good.
not easy to get 200whp on standard mod.
just from my exp.

171whp is a great number considering the parts you have that restrict the engine:
B16A intake
B16A TB
B16A head

Change those for B18C parts and you'll have a lot more power.

oh yea good point..are you talking 171 WHP or flywheel? if it's at the wheels then thats impressive for what you have!

Hi all,
Its 171whp, Dyno Jet. I'm test using Dynojet Dyno machine. My TB also alraedy ported

try look to this;
1.exhaust extractor
2.tb/intake manifold type r
3.air intake type mugen/topfeul
maybe you can get almost 180whp

Hi MC,
I just scared if my piston ring dammaged because compared with others 250psi.. i just 200psi. If 171whp are normal for B18CR with PCT piston...i'm so happy.

Youd know if your piston ring was damged! you'd be chucking blue smoke out... if you have the same compression across all cylinders then its fine. A compression test isnt an indication of your Compression ratio..

Hi JD,
The problem is, i got white smoke, even compression 200psi. Is it becauuse of my Piston Ring too or My Piston? or because i use RON 95 petrol.

from my experience, 171whp is what i get with b18cr with b16b piston.everything else is stock.using ron97 at that time.so, yours is like very good. dont remember what my compression is though. i think its better for you to have a type r head.intake and TB.also, custom tune your ecu to suit your engine and mods.
