I got bored of my B16 swap so i have bought a b18c4 bottom end and am looking to buy a type r head to go with it.

Currently im running ek9 cams and ecu on my b16, would the ek9 ecu run the b18c4 ok without leaning out?

This is just so i can drive it to somewhere so i can tune it properly, or would a p73? itr ecu work better as its a 1.8 also.

How different are the fuel / spark timing tables between the ek9 and dc2 ecus?

Thanks.

It's ok to drive on, but I would be hesitant to put my foot down till it is properly tuned.

If you have ek9 cams already with matching valve springs and retainers you should just keep that head and have a mild port done on it, ITR and CTR head is same as B16a head, only difference is cams/valves/valvesprings/retainers/valvejob and very minor port work.

Im only using the cams in a b16a2, found a b18c6 complete head quite cheap.

This also means i can build the whole motor up without taking my car off the road for more than a few days, just old motor out, new one in.

Just paid for a p73 dc2 ecu so that should get me going.

Will have my ek9 ecu for sale soon!
