b16b valve clearences

before i get the car mapped, would it be an idea to get this done? to they fall out fo correct tolerances easily or should mine be ok? dont know when they were last checked. is this expensivce to get done and would it improve horsepower/ reliability? cheers lads

Yes its a good idea to check the clearances. Having them out of spec can cause issues. 0.15-0.19mm intake and 0.17-0.21mm exhaust are specified. You should aim to get closest to lowest value so for intake .15mm and exhaust .17 check clearance again after you tighten the jam nut.
