b16b not running right...

hi....
i have a b16a vti civic and just changed the engine, i heard the doner going perfectly it was taken out.. since putting it in my car myself it has not revved as clean as the other one, the car backfires when i back off the throttle.. i have checked all the usuals, plugs, leads etc
anybody any ideas??

what ecu are you using?

so you have gone from b16a to b16b?
which ecu do you have?does it idle correctly, have you checked for vacume leaks?
what engine loom etc, also are the fuel rails the same on your old and new engines? some one i know had a similar problem when doing a conversion from b16a to b, turned out to be incorrect type fuel rail.
