Hi guys,
Never seems to be straight forward when it comes to me and my EK9 relationship. So for a few weeks now my idle has been very low during cold start, sometimes cuts out. I did my research and found that it was most likely my IACV, I wanted to take mine apart and clean it but was told that its not worth doing that and to just get a new one.
Orderd a second hand one from R1 Motion (excellent service from them) and had it fitted yestereday. The low idle issue is now gone, but the car now idles between 1100 and 1500 RPM, the revs are slowly moving around whilst im stationary (idle hunt I believe this is called?).
I drove home though thinking it was just a temporary thing, see how it runs at full temp but nothing has changed. The box comtaining my old IAVC, I notice there is the head of a nut in the box, I suspect one of the two securing nuts has broken but didnt spot this at the time as I left the garage (they didnt mention issues during fitting). So anyways my point, I suspect that there is an air leak causing the idle to not be right, but would I potentially be looking at anything else here?
Before my low idle issues started the car ran extremely well, no idle hunt for example, started every time. Its worth noting that my old IAVC looks good, the issue clearly was the fact it was gunked up, I should of taken it off, cleaned it and refitted!
Thanks in advance,
Rush
