hi there

I have b16b on my ek hatch, and i am trying to buy a DC 4-1 one piece header from a b16a eg hatch, will this clear my oil pan?

help please.

thanks

The B16B has a longer block than the B16A to accomdate for the longer stroke it has, plus the collector on a B16B exhaust header is 2.5 inch, where as the B16A is 2.25 inch.

so personally i dont think it will align up correctly, i may be wrong though.

thanks! here is one more thing that I am still confused, some ppl say that it is 2.25 and some say it is 2.5 inch collector.

hmm..

can anyone please confirm.

thanks

Are you talking about your header? If so, why not just measure it?

OEM B16A is 2.25"
OEM B16B is 2.5"

Header will bold on both B16A and B16B, I was runing a B16A header on a B16B engine, but B16A header collector was 2" and the B16B manifold I got was 2.5" and did not fit to my exhuast. Because I swapped from B16A to B16B and B16B manifold not only had a 2.5" collector, but also was to short, it was not reaching my exhuast.

All depends on what exhuast you have 2" or 2.25" or 2.5" and what do the header collector measure.

had a similiar issue when fitting a B16B into my eg, used the GReddy 4-2-1 Manifold that was on the B16A (thought it would be suitable enough) but it actually rested against the sump, like literally touching/resting!

thanks so much for all your inputs.

I have jdm b16b header, jdm cat,hks hi flo catback. i have no chance of measuring it, the collector i mean.

i have these off my car in which i plan to put on after i decide which headers to go for, T1R midpipe, spoon N1 axleback, blox test pipe, all 2.5inch.

also, that is what i am not sure of, is which headers will rest or hit my oil pan or whatever fitment issues since i have a b16b and spoon oil baffle pan.

i would like to go for a 421, but still pondering on 4-1. im thinking of dc 41, hytech 421 or strup 41. any reviews will be greatly appreciated.

thanks guys

Vibrant J-spec 4-2-1 is what I recommend.

Hytech does't make a header for the 16B unless you're talking about the copies out there. My friend uses that on his 16B hatch and it's a good performing header but it hangs very low and you're definitely going to scrape the shi@t outta it on Vancouver streets.

The other you may wish to consider is the copy RMF... I would get the copy Toda in stainless steel, but I haven't seen the vendor around for a while....or maybe I just haven't been looking enough.

do NOT get a DC header even if it's stainless steel... the primaries are entirely too small and the flanges that mate to the cylinder head at mild steel and will rust..in short...it'll look like crap in no time in rainy Vancouver.

thanks for that input. now i am thinking of vibrant. i cant find the toda replica online,im still on the hunt.

i have a read a lot of good reviews about virbant.

cheers

thanks for all your input. i have decided to for the vibrant j spec. nice size primaries and quality. nice price too. 500-600CAD range after taxes.

i will team it with my blox test pipe and T1R midpipe and spoon N1 axleback.i hope this can get my engine more "breathing room." thinking of putting a blox filet in there with velocity stack.

because i am only running oem jdm 16b headers, jdm cat, and hks hi flow catback right now.time to change up.

thanks thanks and long live the civic!
