B16A and B16B dizzy the same?

Hey guys,

My car won't start, I was having issues before when it was taking forever before it fired, I have ruled out fuel supply, battery has been charged up so it's down to dizzy I think! I found a B16A dizzy for sale but I'm not sure if it is the same as B16B? Or is there anyone in Glasgow who would be willing to lend me their spare just so I can try and confirm where the problem lies? Alternatively, I'm thinking about rebuilding the old one, I don't want to end up spending money on a second hand dizzy that will be ''working'' as ''well'' as mine! Is there anywhere I can get a full dizzy rebuild set or something?
I've searched the forum but could not find the answer I need, any help is appreciated! Thanks!

All B series VTEC dizzys are the same, only difference is the plugs on the dizzy. Obd1/2 if you want to swap parts from another dizzy you can use a d series dizzy as wel there all the same from the inside. All your dizzy needs is a ICM (ignitor)

Yeah the b16 one would work. Just make sure it has the right plugs for your car. (obd1/2)

Also check your fuel pump relay.

I can hear the fuel pump and I have no spark so I am pretty sure the problem is either in the Dizzy or the Toad immobilizer is playing up...

Yes they are interchangable as whole items but the dizzy caps differ between b16 and b18/b16b as the latter are bigger and reinforced more than b16.
