Good progress Huw!

You thought about perspex/lexan windows for it to help with the weight loss?

Too many times lol. I really want to, but being an everyday car not sure of the security, and then the front windows, i'd still want them to go up and down :/ who knows maybe in future sometime :nice:

Just waiting on a baffled sump to turn up, change the oil and filter and it'll be back on the road :D can't wait!!

What baffled sump you going for/where you getting it from?? I've been looking for a good one for ages

thanks

Not a great update, but since my car has been back on the road it hasn't really run spot on, misfiring on cold start ups, hesitating while driving normal, but drove fine flat out. So did a compression test and it came back low on one cylinder :(

I was going to take it back off the road and solve the problem, but i couldn't handle not driving it for however long again.
So last week i bought a new engine and dropped it in over the weekend, wish i hadn't bothered, forgot how much of a job it was! But its in and running :D

So i shall whip my head off the other engine this week and see whats the problem, and then build it back up :)

Few random pics i took

Whiteline front 25mm arb and asr 24mm rear arb

Finally got round to sorting my wiring this week
Taking all the original civic engine, sunroof, radio, door and speaker looms out. Wish i never started tbh, but it looks better now.

Removed my front fogs as one was cracked, so now have 2 big holes in my bumper so added a tow strap through one

Also added some bigger canards

Cut my front wings up for 'aero' lol

Also did the rear bumper, still have my rear diffuser to fit aswell

I really want the car down to 1000kgs, which im not sure is even possible :dunno:/> last time it was weighed it was 1080kg, since then i would estimate i have removed 65kgs. But i am also adding weight with arb's, braces etc.

Been following you for ages on instagram. Didnt know you were on here. Has to be one of my favorite coupes.

Thanks :) hopefully strt putting the engine together this weekend :) pics to follow.

Nice update Huw!

Didnt realise you went for speed holes on the front wings!

Yeah went a bit crazy, kind of regretting it now as vosa are pulling everyone round here so got a feeling they won't like this so much lol

Fitted balance shaft block off

Valves

Springs/retainers

Piston on rod

Crank in

Pistons in

Blox front arb drop links for the dc2 arb

More shiny washers

Fitted the oil pump and water pump last night

And the little pan thingy

Password jdm header bolts turned up too

So the block is nearly done, still need to send the head off to be skimmed but i have no time off work to take it down.
But i'm still aiming for the end of the month to being on the road, need to pull my finger out!
