what's up fellas. i wanted to know if any one could help with my situation. My problem is v-tec is being hesitant it engages fine but soon after like 6100'ish it gets real jerky as if the solenoid is shutting on and off or something ?? Only other time i had this problem was when oil was low but thats not the case? Anyone ever had this problem??

Side note: i read the previous thread in this forum about the v-tec/ bad thermostat but that doesn't sound similar to my problem bcause my temp gauge does'nt fluctuate.

MOTOR:
B18c block
p72 head
ITR internals

What oil are you using? Sounds like maybe an oil pressure problem...are you running a programable ecu? is the check engine light on? :)

New plugs?

mobil 1 synhtetic 5w-30..plgz may need to be changed i cleaned them about a week ago they were pretty black lol. ECU p73..chek engine light due to 02 sensor?? never felt the vtec so jerky like this its pathetic as soon as it engages it just putters through the top of the gear ?

well, if I were you I would change the plugs, I change my plugs every oil change. Also get the check engine light fixed. If its the O2 sensor you may be running too rich; fouling your plugs with black soot. And the ecu may be running in limp mode making Vtec work poorly or not at all. Sounds like a simple issue that you can get corrected quickly and at a low cost.

Is your vtec solenoid corroded ive herd that if it gets corroded itll give problems

"Corroded Vtec", sounds like a punk band from the UK! lol

haha thanks guys.. yea i gues i'll change my plugz. it does seem like a small issue i just cant pin point it, hopefully it will be an easy fix this thing runs like a beast when she's healthy

ignition square piece?

Probably means the rotor arm.

Thats the thing that spins inside the dizzy. It has an electrode on it that touches 4 points. 1 point for each ignition wire.

That is like changing the oil in a car and not replacing the filter! There is no reason to not replace that if the cap is being replaced. Live and learn I guess.

yea sorry i dont know the proper name but its almost a perfect square and there were five prongs that ran off of it. It may be called the ignighter or secondary ignighter very easy to replace

heres my old one
