Anyone here insured with them? Have you had to make a claim, make changes or cancel the policy mid term? How did they do?

Just got a quote from them for half what Sky, Chris Knott and Adrian Flux can manage, and a quarter of the price of the next cheapest quote on Comparethemarket.com!

Just thinking somehting must be wrong to be that cheap?

I'm with them but only because there cheap. Touch wood I don't have to make a claim though.

Hit the nail on the head with that comment.
Alot of jap enthusiasts (inc me - with elephant but belong to admiral group) are with them, simply because they always seem to be cheaper than any quote you get from most import/high performance specialists.

I'm with admiral. Had my last car with them as well, always helpful, their call centre is abroad but they are pretty good, ring up for quotes quite often and never a problem. I'd say they are ok.

Ithink for me, what makes good Insurance is;

-Agreed value for the car
-in the event of a bump, you get to pick the bodyshop. My mrs is with directline and they have had her car back to repair it properly 6 times. In the end it has gone to VW's approved bodyshop and they have been stung with a bill for £2200!!! On the 2nd time it went back, the shitheads reversed a car into my mrs car!!!
- how quick they deal with a claim

I'd be devastated it they gave mr 5k for my car. So I'd say it's worth paying the extra going with a specialist. I'm going to do that next for sure.

There's paying a litte extra to go with a specialist, then there's paying two, three or even four times the amount.

On a 14 year old 120k EK4, it's just not worth it.

Been with admiral for 2 years now, Amazing price !

Had to make a claim and they payed up quickly and I had no hastle etc in getting money out of them.

Swapped my car over and recieved new docs quickly.

I cant fault them really :)

I completely agree. Specialist insurers are great in theory but their prices, for me, are always a hell of a lot more. I called Sky when my renewal was due on my VW Bora which I had before the '9 and they wanted 5x what Admiral did. Standard 1.6 Bora!!

It is swings and round abouts, quite often my company smash prices from comparison sites etc, not just for standard cars but also for modified/import cars.

I appreciate you are cheaper for other people but I'm obviously not one of them! As soon as your prices are competitive I will go to yourselves or a similar specialist as I do appreciate you get a bit more for your money but currently the added value isn't worth the premium to me personally.

I've been with admiral for the last year now, really good so far, and im on a 10 month bonus booster which is good if you're young (im only 20) rack up the no claims quicker.

Ive never had to make a claim with them though so cant comment, but every time i've faffed around and made changes to my policy on the phone theyve been good as gold.

not sure about them having a foreign call centre who ever said that, every time ive rang its been a welsh person!

To some people, Welsh is foreign!

The thing about that 10 month bonus accelerator is that Admiral are the only company that will accept it. Or at least so I have heard. (From a lot of people)

I decided to let my current policy renew at £750. Admiral increased their price from £475 to £490 when I called them (they had my cars value down as £295!), which when paid monthly ended up being about £630.

My current policy keeps my DOC cover (the only company offering it for under 25s!) which I value at about £75 and for the sake of £45 I thought I would avoid the possibility of any of horror stories happening from their claims department, plus I can pay in 3/4 installments which is better than monthly!

i've been with Bell - Admirals sister comapny - since i got my first jap car and they've been unbeatable on price. At 19, on a Glanza (insured as a turbo) with 0ncb and 2 crashes they quoted me £1500 fully comp!

Im with admiral and i dont have many great things to say about them.

My VTS was £2500
Clio 1.8 16valver was £2700
my civic 1.4 illusion ...£2700 and would have been £2900 if they got the year right.
lol it just doesnt add up.

I now have 5 points and £150 fine from a crash where i rear ended a " friend " due to his reckless driving and got the blame.

Insurance is due for renewal in 1 month and im bricking it.

Also did an insurance quote on a Starlet glanza on comparethemarket and came out at £5k with my points and fine.

im 18 , 19 end of July. with pass plus , held liscence for 1 year.

Just recently had quotes from Admiral for a EK9 standard £1288 & Elephant £1994

I am 21 with three years NCB.

I did have a quote from Admiral for my C2 VTS renewal and it was £1220 on my own name I tried on my parents muti car and was quoted £770

So muti car could be a good way to go anyone tried that?

Me and my wife have just bought a fabia vrs, so I rang admiral for a multi car policy. I told them I was already a customer and have had my ek9 insured with them for 3 years now, so the sales person told me sorry I won't be able to give you a quote on a multi car policy as we won't be insuring that type of car anymore meaning the ek9.

I havn't claimed and I have a clean licence so once my policy is finished thats it, i'll have to find another insurance company so just a word of warning anyone that has a ek9 insured with admiral you might get a shock.

Wow. Thats no good. I'm with them and they were the only company i could afford to ensure myself through.
