Hi guys, hope you can help me out with this one!

Basically when hitting the brakes hard, it'll either lock up, ABS will kick in knocking the gearstick all over the place or ABS will kick in and make a metallic rattly noise.

I've also recently noticed the gearstick is wobbling more than usual, when you come off the throttle, it's jerky when crawling at low revs too.

I've had the rear mount replaced which was in two pieces basically, what I'm wondering is maybe the damaged rear mount has put extra strain on the other mounts, and possibly the gearbox mounts?

Do you think the ABS and gearstick wobble issues could be related?

Thanks for any help.

have a look at the other engine mounts first.... could be the gear linkage or bushes

Thanks man, any ideas on the ABS issue too?

Sound like an electrical issue for the ABS, I had a civic with the metallic rattly noise intermittantly then eventually it started throwing an code, turned out to be a split in the sensor wire r-O/S!
..But if its not throwing any codes then I think should should go over all the electrical connections for the ABS! and the connector in the control unit under dash.

Id re-inspect the rear mount itself and the bracket that bolts to the block, this is the most likely cause of your problem.

Did you replace the rear bracket yourself? or did you have somone else do it?

Did you use an aftermarket mount?

OEM mount, fitted by the local garage.

The engine mounts seem fine though, must be the gear bushes..
