With every new post you prove my point to everybody. That you do not care to support your product and to sit down with me and work a solution that would make both of us happy.

Why have you left it 7 months. That means its down to you. I am on joshes side on this. Whats to say it isn't something you have done? Just leave it now you have said what you had to sort it out via pm not on his rep thread. You have said your points. This is reining a good sellers rep through you leaving some thing 3/4 of a year to no say about bit suspicious don't you think?

Sorry to butt in here. I don't care how long you've had it but your mechanic fitted a gearbox without checking it? Nor did you or anyone else. Then It takes you 7 months to now blame Josh because your box went. You would have had a strong case if you fitted a week or even two after arrival but seven months is a a farce and then to come out and say he dosn't support the product sold. Sorry but you really don't have a case at all here.

I do agree with this, how do we know the box wasnt fitted a couple days after it arrived and did 10k miles then went?

I bought a block from a boy on here never used it for about 5months then fitted it and the oil pump went, i could have complained ect but in my opinion i should have checked/replaced all the bits n bobs before fitting it but these things happen.
I dont think you can try and discredit him especially after so long

FYI it isn't 7 months. The gearbox was delivered to me 17 June. Unlike Josh I do have the receipt as a proof...

Honda members here know my car and me as they have told you.
I have presented my case.

Only thing to add is this argument: by making this story public every forum member in Greece also knows what happened and what is the condition of the gearbox in my car. He has even seen my number plate in the pics. So if I were to sell my car right now it would make it difficult to find a buyer and they would try to lower my price. Whoever is speculating please answer me this: why would I do that if it was my fault? Even the compensation I am asking does not cover that. I am only seeking justice here.

I cannot impose a solution. Just present logic arguments.

You do realise it is November? That's still 5 months, nearly half a year. Those 2 extra months are negligible when you have already left it so long. Sorry to thread jack but you really have no case.

I can't see the logic behind your arguements. In Josh' defence he ran this box on his car, it then ran fine after rebuild with or without 'receipts'.

He then sells it to yourself, you fit it without checking it whatsoever, unfortunately something came /left loose and damaged the box. Now you're here present trying to shift blame upon Josh that he intentionally sold you a dodgy gearbox.

In my line of work, upon my business you sound like the consumer of food that hasn't tasted his food but has went ahead and delved into the dark arts of covering your plate in salt and returning to me telling me its too salty . I see no logical points of arguement at all. If Josh shows this receipt you will have wasted alot of effort for nothing which already will has lead to no solution.
:wow:

This really is going too far! And it's the last thing you want all over Reputation. It really is.
Look, if I knew something was wrong with this (which when I was running it, it was perfect working order) do you really think i'd go too all this hassle! No I wouldn't! I really wouldn't! If it had of been a month or so, I would have contributed, because we all know mechanics can be a funny thing and go at any time, But come on it's like half a year! And I don't know what's been done with that in the 2 months it was brought and the 5 months you've received it, yes mechanical items are strong, but at the end of the day all of is being car lovers, as I've stated, we know mechanics can go wrong at any time! So trying to ship the blame on me saying I've sold a 'dodgey gearbox' really is getting to me now. I can not stress it's just not in my nature! If this keeps going on, I'm quite tempted just to leave the forum, because it's really becoming a joke everytime I come online too look at one of my interests, I have this to answer too from 7 months ago! And I will answer, because I have nothing to hide. Where as if I did. Surely I wouldn't even bother to come online! And secondly answer!

So if you was in Josh's position, you would happily contribute/refund monies? even after this length of time.

Ranting on the forum is not going to do anything, only get both of you pissed.

You cannot 'Support' a used product, its a gamble. I believe Josh sold this in good faith, i Know him and his cars he's the last person to want this. We are all Honda nuts, stuff goes wrong. why don't you keep this to PM's?

I can't see what you expect Josh to do

Urban boy, as I wrote in the first place, I tried PMs for 2 full weeks.

What would I expect Josh to do?
First of all give me a straight answer in these PMs instead of only trying to stall. I even asked if he wanted to propose something else. He doesn't want to refund money? I can understand that. Suggest something else.
What would I think of if I were in his place?
1. Take the receipt and the photos and go to J. Daines. He made this happen. Slim chance that any mechanic will give back money, but if you explain how this matter has an impact in his rep as well maybe he would agree to some discount in a future job. This would make it easier to send some funds my way.
2. Still short of cash? If Josh has the same Honda fan mentality as myself, I bet he has a garage corner full of old parts he knows he will not need or sell. I have. We all do. Why not suggest to give something from these.

You are all smart people. Sure you can think of a third or a fourth alternative. If Josh cooperated,we would have found a solution already.

There's not a chance in hell the mechanic would give a refund for it. Most mechanics dont even give a guarantee. For example, I had my clutch replaced at the start of the year, the garage that did it destroyed one of my wheel bearings, ball joints, cv joints and my airbox. After talking to them (a week after getting the car back), they refused to do anything because I could've done anything to the car in that week according to them.

From what it seems like to me, you've just had bad luck. If I was in your position, I wouldn't be expecting anything back. I think it's quite unfair on what your doing to 7Readie7.

Anything could've happened in the time that you've had the box. If I was in his shoe's, I wouldn't be giving you anything.

Sorry if that seems harsh.

From the point i see it, none of the members against Maranx, commented on the technical side of the argument, which is the case in this occasion if you ask me. The collapse seems to have happened from the inside which couldn't be seen or checked without opening. The fact that maranx didn't have it opened to have a thorough look, would be according to the sellers claims for a perfect working order box (and recently serviced).
So you don't believe Maranx because he is not active on the board and he didn't mind (for his own reasons) swapping it straight after he got it. So if you were him and all these were nothing but the true, and then you got accused for being a liar too, how would that feel?
If the seller found the receipt (through which the purchase was made strong) then the "moral" blame would leave him and would get on his mechanic.
Being as it is, we have a fact (broken box) and no proof for its prior "guaranteed" condition.

Im not calling him a liar, just unlucky. I'm just looking at this from an outside view and taking both sides of the story to be true.

The make or break part of this case is the fact that it wasn't fitted for 7 months imo.
