5th gear problem after 7000rpm

Hi folks I bought a jdm ep3 at the weekend car is spot on and runs the best when I bought it then heading up the motorway I noticed after 7000rpm when u try to put it into 5th it doesn't go in. There's no crunches or anything just as if there isn't a gear but anything under 7000rpm it goes in no problem? Any ideas
