You could google for your D15Z6 is it? I`m only sure that it`s sohc, 105hp and vtec 1st stage.

• VTEC-E
• Found in:
o 1996-2000 Honda Civic LS (European Market)
• Displacement : 1493 cm3
• Bore and Stroke : 75 mm X 84.5 mm
• Rod Length : 137 mm
• Compression : 9.6:1
• Power : 114 hp @ 6500 rpm
• Torque : 98 ft-lb (141 Nm) @ 5400 rpm
• VTEC Switchover : 2500 rpm (3500rpm in 5th gear)
• Valvetrain : SOHC VTEC-E (4 valves per cylinder)
• Fuel Control : PGM-FI MPFI

It's a small engine, ideal for daily drive, you can buy bolt ons to it, intake, header, but don't expect that much, anyways adding this bolt on mods you should have fun with your car :)

i have the same engine and for what they are they are still quick i was only 0.7 secs and 7 mph down from a ek4 at santa pod. i have the jap version the vtec comes in at 4250 rpm. i really rate the engine

i had one for my first civic. it was not to bad. 115bhp is what that one had. i had a short ram header de cat full stainless car drove very well. think you would need a d16z6 to get anything like 130bhp and i think they are 125bhp at that

just thought i would post some pics of my old ek3 as didnt think anyone had one on here good luck mate

I have an ek3 aswell. I have lots of fun with it but only because it handles as good as my mates ek9! I have a full skunk2 system, 4 branch mani, de-cat, short ram, eko-tec valve, torque damper and earthing kit. Runs excellent and I have surprised a few people but nothing spectacular.

Never had the car dyno'd so dont know what its running but dont think it will be anything crazy. Cant get any better than mid 16's on the quarter mile!

It has set me up perfectly to get an ek9!! :nice:

mid 16's is very good iv seen a few vti's do not much better my vti standard got a 15.3 so only about 1 sec in it. plus there is the k20 swap aswell

Damnnn VTEC @ 2500rpm :D

the v-tec on mine didnt come in till 5000rpm. not that you feel it much ha ha

Yhe that exactly the same as what iv got for my first car at da mo.
Had it on the rolling road 114bhp.

VTEC is at 2500. (3500 in 5th gear.)

So you wouldn't feel anything in any other RPM....

From what I can see anyway...

This VTEC is a economical VTEC, also called VTEC-E

The vtec is engaged up to 2500rpm (3500rpm in fifth gear).
It works simply:
VTEC ON
1 intake valve
2 exhaust valve
VTEC OFF
2 intake valve
2 exhaust valve

Japan 130hp version has a second vtec, infact it's called tri-stage vtec. Like the civic esi (1.6 125hp) above 5500rpm a third cam moves intake valves.

I would say they are perfect little first car not including gow much i pay 4 insurence
