Rotrex K20 EF Civic Track Build

Hope for the best then!
Love the cream paint on the car aswell!

Good luck and I'm waiting for the next update. :)

Yes YES YES! so much win! great looking project, love those old hatchbacks!

Just about finished the full hydro conversion..

Started prepping the bay.. headlight bucket cut for clearence on the alternator.. there will be some more to cutout for boost pipe clearence on the front panel but as i havent ordered my IC yet, it'll have to wait..

You skinned the eg bonnet as well didn't you ?
Might take the skin off my carbon bonnet , well I was contemplating it but not sure if it will effect rigidity.

I will also be going rotrex K hopefully next year as I'm bored of the B18 and craving more power and why not do it all at once like yours. Your build will help me a lot too.

I de-skinned my EK carbon bonnet, and it's still retained its core strength. It's near the hinges you have to be careful, just make sure you leave a good portion around them. Saved 2.5kg from the skin alone

Had a good day on this today.. my mate was roped in to weld and my lad too..

Cut out the front panel for more clearence for the intercooler..

Got the traction bar welded in and the frame to sit the fuel cell in...

We then got all the rest of the cage and gussets welded in apart from one piece as we ran out of steel..

Some more progress today with the help of my mate again..

Got the front arms fitted with new poly bushes and the ARB.. new poly droplinks and TRE's.

I'd got some 2 point UltraRacing fender braces some time ago but my mate took a shine to them, so gave them to him after making him promise to help me make some 3 point versions.. this was the result..

Came home to a parcel..

Front and rear camber arms..

We got the Kswap bracket welded in to the driver side chassis leg yest, and also welded the rear bracket to the subframe for extra strength. This meant all welding in the bay was now complete so we could get on with painting it.. The bay had been painted already before I got the car but it wasnt a great job, so we prepped it and got it into primer..

We then got some colour on..

Now that the bay was in colour, I set about refitting the subframe and front LCA's along with the new camber arms.

I then moved onto the traction bar, had to make some bushes as 2 seemed to be missing but got there in the end..

While I was doing that, my mate took a look at the rear arches, as I mentioned this car was painted when I got it.. whoever painted it had done a 'repair' on both lower rear arches and ends of the sill.. it wasnt a great job and needed sorting. I had order 2 arch arch repairs in preperation for this.. The filler and rotton metal was cut out of both sides and the arch repairs cut down to the parts we needed... about halfway through on this..

Passenger side cut out..

Drivers side, cut out and welded up..

Had been considering get a pair of these billet drop forks from MPC in the U.S for a while.. then some popped up for sale on good old FB! Snapped them up.

Still on with finishing up the rear arches but had been toying with the idea of modifying the front wings so showed my mate a few pics of what I was after and below was the end result.. look great I think.. still need filling etc but ya get the idea.

Few shots of the mounts welded in.. and with the hubs bolted up.. forgot to take a pic of the Wilwoods fitted but will get some another time.

Also finally got the inside painted today.. just a few bits to touch in that we couldnt get with the gun..

Primed..

Colour on!

Started fitting the fuel setup today.. and got the column back in after removing the barrel and factory height adjuster.. I also dropped the column about 25mm.. this may need more adjustment once the seats in, we also need to fit a support to where the column mounts as I'm not using the factory one anymore.

Quick pic of the brakes fitted too..

FairPlay to you man!
Whole thing is looking ace already!

Great project, love the work so far! Looking forward to seeing more progress:)
