I would like to know your spring rate set-up on your car.

I'm using TEIN N1
Front 1343lbs/in = 24 kg/mm
rear 1000lbs/in = 17.8kg/mm

I'm going to install
Front 700lbs/in = 12.5 kg/mm
rear 1000lbs/in = 17.8kg/mm
because i'm doing autocross

Jeeezzz thats stiff

Im running Spoon progressives theyr
Front 6.5kg
Rear 5.5kg

An even that feels a little to stiff on the rear but i think thats the kyb shocks

I was running tien Super streets
Front 8kg
Rear 5kg
But that was a little to understery, needed cash so sold em an put back on the spoons

Id say for auto cross and mostly street driving on crapy roads the spoon setup is prity good, but for track though i think im going to go for more like F8kg/R6kg or F10kg/R8kwhen i get the funds together. 2kg difference seems to be a good balance.

Have you thought of fitting a stiffer antiroll bar on the rear instead of the such stiff springs?

all coilover kit are made with higher rating in front then rear. on race trac, normally, all driver prefer to install higher springs rating in back.

Got 6k front 3k rear. Would like a bit higher on the rear, but it's a nice rate for a daily!

I am using the Spoon progressives 6.3/5.5, excellent on road and autocross.

I am curious as to why Americans/Canadians run such ridiculous spring rates?

could be a track car or that he goes to track often?????

but yeah that crazy if it was just a street only car (must have super smooth roads).

my track EK uses less, 14/12

Even for a track car that is excessive by UK standards!

What do you think about my setup?

Track Only EK Hatch with JDM B18C with Kumho XS tires.
-Tein Flex Coilovers.
-9 kg front and 5 kg rear.
-Front 27 mm Sway Bar.
-Rear ASR 24 mm Sway Bar.

I have a pair of 8 kg springs for the rear. Would you recommend puting that instead the 5 ks?

Im battling with understeer.... Thanks!:nice:

If you put massive rate springs on it will blind out the suspension (not let it move or work) and solely rely on your tyres and chassis flex as the suspension and handling.

But what about my setup?

Increasing spring rate overall will keep my inside rear from lifting?

TEIN HA's F 10 Kg R 8Kg

Find them easy to live with as I have the dampers on softest setting for road, but when I get to track damping goes full hardness or there abouts. I find these rates good on track car feels very stable and safe, however wouldn't mind something slightly heavier particularly in the rear as I'd like a bit more oversteer.

But since the track I've stuck in a 3mm thicker ARB (15-18mm) and a few polybushes around the rear so hopefully it sort it out a bit.

Ok I've got poly bushes all around. Ok I'll put F 9 kg and R 10 kg with full damping on F and R. What do you think about that setup for a fast track?

Thanks for your answer!:drive:
