Hey guys,

Finding that it's getting harder to put the car into 1st gear when at a complete stop. Sometimes it's fine no problem but then other times I have to knock it back to neutral, clutch up and try again. It's like there's a wall there sometimes and it just won't go into gear at all. The other gears are fine for the most part, maybe sometimes 3rd and reverse too but not often. Mainly 1st.
The biting point is rather low too, almost near the bottom.

Is this clutch related and it's wearing out?

Car is a stock mb6, s9b gearbox. Mileage is still pretty low but was elderly owned previously.

Thanks! :)

Reverse are always shocking on old Honda’s so theres nothing new there haha, sounds like it could be a synchro thats worn?

Not sure about clutch wearing out part, but I changed by gear box oil from some after market stuff back to Honda MTF and the difference between engaging first and reverse was like night and day. Maybe try that first as its the cheapest option

Oh I forgot to mention the oil was changed not too long ago to oem honda mtf and it actually did made a slight difference but it's not how it should be. Thanks for reminding me about the oil !

Yep fluid is to the top and doesn't drop at all. Yeah it was bled no problem and feels fine to control

if clutch was the issue youd be having problems with all gears.

just spit balling on that one tbh.
the fact its ok once you depress the clutch again makes me think the syncro is abit slow or something like that

Yeah I have to press the pedal once or twice to get into 1st, not all the time but more than I should have to. Happened at a few traffic lights where people start pulling away and I'm not getting in gear lol I'm thinking the issues inside the gearbox as you say, but I'll get the bushes checked, if the box comes off then can change the clutch
