... To ship to Germany ?

I dont Understand why ?

For me it is Not a Problem to ship from Germany to uk and it is Not much More expensive.

So please tell me why ^^

It depends on what it is, small items I wouldn't have any issues posting but with larger, delicate stuff (like seats) I wouldn't be so willing. The further it has to travel the higher the chance it will get damaged. I don't think this issue is restricted to Germany, I think it's generally posting abroad some people don't want to do. People sent stuff in the past, it got damaged in transit and they had to refund money etc so to many it's just more hassle than it's worth.

Its a lot of hassle if its a large item. Small things, like a gear knob, badges, decals or anything along the lines of that, they're fine.
From my personal experience, I wouldn't trust some delivery companies with my stuff.

Had a time were something was stolen. The package was signed for (Not by me) and never showed up at my house. Of course I reported this to the company, but nothing was done about it.

If its not a problem for you and you're willing to do it, then set up a courier for the thing you want to buy.

Only Talk about thinks like steeringwheel or ecu and so on . Or spoon n1 ( what is not that big like a complete Catback ).

98% the answer is: Nope no shipping Outside uk .....

Most of the time it's because people are lazy

If the item is not to big and can be packaged well, ideally in a box then it's pretty easy to send abroad in my experience

Steering wheels might be tricky if there's an airbag fitted - not allowed on a plane because it contains explosives. ECU I can't see why that would be a problem, backbox should be OK as well. I wouldn't be too happy to send Recaros or body panels anywhere not even within UK - unless the buyer assumes total responsibility and pays by bank transfer or as a gift via paypal. But yeah, I understand why with certain items people may prefer personal collection, I certainly do. Having said that I've posted small items to Netherlands, France and Romania without any issues.

Some people just dont have access to the information they need, think of it as dodgy and to be fair there is a big increase in price but not a problem if buyer pays postage, i sent a BBK to Spain and a Rear Light Cluster to Italy the other day from my work for £25 each but if i didnt work shipping things all over the world and i worked as say a joiner i wouldnt know where to even begin.

Oh yes the old story about people who didnt ship outside the UK :angry2:
I had many of that experiences too. One time I was looking for a good set of OEM red EK9 Floor mats. One 4 sale @ ebay.co.uk. Didnt think about he is not gonna ship it to germany and clicked "buy it now". The seller was kind of freakin out at me! He said like "How could you dare to waste my time by clicking "buy it now" and expect I would ship it to foreign countries! I even called him by phone to calm him down and beseech him to send me this ultrarare well conditioned mats. I said to him that Im a serious buyer and EK9 enthusiast! No chance to change his mind! He was so upset!
Fortunately I was able to contact the seller of my EK9 in England to buy the mats from him and managed to ship it to germany after he received them from this prick.
That situation was so annoying! :eew:

Personally I can't see the problem.
I've sent;
wiring loom to texus
Cup holders and an ek9 carpet to Iran
Various parts to Portugal
Never had one issue. Majority of the time foreign buyers are willing to pay more money for the parts they want/need than uk buyers will. This is purely because most uk sellers won't send, so carry on not sending abroad, because I'm cashing in when I need to sell something lol

I understand if people don't want to ship their stuff to some stranger (some people might've had bad experiences in the past), just continue your search and buy somewhere else.
But even though I've sold lots of parts to people all over Europe and the USA, I've never had one bad experience. Just use Paypal and make sure you can track the package.

What does annoy me is people not replying if you ask them if they are willing to ship, so rude imo. A simple 'no' is sufficient for me and takes about 3 seconds of your time to reply.
This happens more and more. Even UK/USA shops just seem to ignore you sometimes, which is really frustrating if you really want something.

My thoughts are as followed

If on eBay.co.uk (clue is in the name it's a UK website) I wouldn't expect to sell to foreign countries otherwise I would list on eBay.com...

When buying on eBay I alway limit my search to located in the UK. If things go wrong you have a UK company and buyer to deal with so (hopefully) no language issues.

So translate that into forums, I want to deal with a UK company for delivery and hopefully English speaking UK residents. If the item goes missing somewhere round the world how am I to deal with that? Even worse if it arrives and it's damaged as most companies don't cover damage only loss as I have recently found out..... Even when extra cover is taken out and paid for..... at mostly my expense!

Another more important note for me is I only use the Royal Mail a UK company that prefers a postcode or everything gets a bit iffy. Also I can go into store and drop the item off at a convenient time during working hours. If it's a courier they only run during working weekday hours, and expect you to sit around all frigging day waiting. And more recently this experience ended in a total no show and a days holiday lost for nothing. I remind you holiday is not funded in the sale by either buyer or delivery company it costs the buyer and if you knew my rate I would never sell anything. Simply not practical or acceptable and again no compensation and they point you to there terms and condition which I you agreed.... Did they read mine... Guess not.

So with this in mind forgive us as individuals with a day job, family and day to day stresses we are not business and I for on do not want more hassle and Argo than it's worth and potentially a complete loss. PayPal will tend to side with the buyer.

I am not a business and do not wish to take these risks.

Just my thoughts.

There are more reasons but this is the just of it...

Ok i think .... after i read all ...the big issue is ... ******* Royal Mail ? because again ... in Germany you go to DHL and give them your
package ! if you ship it to germany it cost 6,90€ (thinks like sterringwheel) and if you ship to UK is same , yea ok a little bit more expensive ... lik 12-15€ i think.

I dont have to get an courier or something else !

Because ... hey iam working to ! i know its crazy but i do -.-

Yes I would say your probably right.

The only service we have is Royal Mail or parcel force. Otherwise it's a courier service and none are local and require a 30odd mile drive....

Also Law of land differs by this I mean things like import duty. I don't fancy getting into an argument over who has to pay for it....

I know what the rules are in the UK so it simple.

Don't get me wrong it is nothing personal and I have just sold our EP3 to someone in Europe no problem.

But they came and collected, onus is on them.

If shipping to foreign country is required why not take insurance? Everyone would understand the additional fees. If it gets lost the insurance will pay. Its not your problem as the seller if you have a tracking number. Paypal would never make you responsible for a lost package if you have a tracking number!
And for floor mats nobody have to worry about shipping damage! No matter how hard you throw that package in your parcel van ;-)

I paid for that cover from Parcel Force and after recent damage to an item they sent me a letter telling me the would not compensate,

Take a look at what is not covered.

http://www.parcelforce.com/help-and-advice/sending/items-we-exclude-compensation

Basically anything you send they already have covered so they can get out of it!

I wrapped my item in 4-5 rolls of bubble wrap then card board and then bubble wrap again. It was still broken so obviously abused and they want no part in it.

BTW, many couriers have drop off points these days, I have numerous around me and I've used them without any issues. Almost like going to the post office, you just print the label, stick it on and drop it off, they give you a receipt - done. May not work if you live in the country tho. Another option when it comes to stuff you don't want to post is ask the buyer to arrange their own courier - that way the risk lies with them, even then I'd only accept paypal as a gift so that I know I'm getting my money. If someone doesn't like it fair enough, I'll find a different buyer. You'll also find that loads of people want stuff posted to them but can't be bothered arranging the courier themselves - I had that recently with my gearbox, a chap asked if I post to Italy, I said I can put it on a pallet and he can arrange a courier - never heard from him again, guess he didn't want it that badly...

I have sent items all around the world and will continue to do in the future.. At the end of the day, the buyer is paying for the postage so the least the seller can do is wrap it up and send it off.. I too have found the some uk sellers wouldn't post items to Ireland even if I have arranged the courier I pick them up.. Really frustrating at times...
