As the forum continues to grow more people are needed to keep things in order, luckily this place is very civil so we have been able to get by with a handful of mods for a very long time, the users of this forum are rarely the subject of moderation, it's usually spammers/trollers/people that just want to sell/scammers etc.

So basically if you have been around for a while and think your cut out for the job (no pay or compensation is involved) feel free to post in this thread and give a short explanation (couple sentences) why you think you'd be good at it.

Users can also suggest/nominate someone if they think they are up for it.

We are not yet sure which section the mods will be assigned to, it really depends on what we think there strengths are, what we need are some for the market place for sure though.

I will try and keep this open for about 2 weeks unless RVM or myself decide on someone before then.

PS we need like 3 people right now ;) :win::wow::drool::naughty::woot::))

i suppose i could throw the name out there

would hope to cut out spam and text talk

i be on every day and at work on my iphone

i try to read every thread started and contribute where i see fit

edit : also because im up at 4.45am and working at 7.00am, dedication

If we're allowed to nominate others:

I nominate Jokeshopbeard as all the posts I see of his are all spelled correctly and have proper use of grammar, plus, he always takes time to give full answers even to the more repetitive questions which have been covered numerous times (example here.)

Edit: Jokeshopbeard you can PayPal the money to bribe@live.com. :p

I think the potential mods should have lots of online time, those who have access during the day (those who don't do any work doing the day) LOL.

since this is a international forum as well, it will be good to have people at different time zone as well as location. so all times are covered?

but i think most of the guys are in UK, anyway just a thought

I spend far too much time browsing and am frustrated by the lazy people that could just search for the answer for their questions about the same things over and over

I'll stick my name forward :)

I would like to put my name forward for this. I'm on here a couple of times a day everyday!

I have been around here a good few years and would say I know the run of it, where the spammers like to sneak there posts in etc. Part of my day to day job is delegating work and decision making. I do not believe the job of a moderator is to act as if you have some kind of "special authority" over other members but more so to work in the back ground cleaning up where needs be i.e. spam or profanity in threads. I would still contribute as I normally do, giving help to members. One thing I would like to promote is the use of the search function to try prevent the same topics been posted multiple times. I like the atmosphere on here compared to other forums and would like to help keep it that way:nice:

I'm interested in being a Mod, I have a lot of experience around Honda's. I'm always dropping by about everyday. I'm always recommending ek9.org & posting links @ jdmuniverse.com..I know what I'm talking about, I'm polite & try to be as useful of knowledge as I can be.. I can also be like the "West Coast Mod" or something like that.

I would be honoured to take on a MOD roll

I regularly check this forum on a daily basis

Tea break, lunch break and time at home after work also alot of time during the weekend.

I am and have been a moderator on southwestcivics.co.uk aswell as an events organiser. It was seen on there that i would add value to the forum and its members.

To which i have spent some time organising some very sucessful ek9.org meets in the south of the UK. I'm also organising the ek9.org ring trip.

I feel that i would be well suited to this role. My dedication to the site and its members is shown through out the forum including my post count which just shows my dedication.

Thank you

As I've mentioned before to rvm, I would most definately like to have a bigger part in the running of the site. Its one of the main reasons I leave my laptop on all day, hence all its overheating problems. ;)

Studying business and computer programming/software so I spend a hell of alot time on the internet and always have a window displaying EK9.org. :D

I've been the Irish rep for a while now and think I've done the job justice, organised two very succesful meets and I have another one planned for the new year which I think displays my dedication to the site.

If my girlfriend ever manages to see this post I'm a dead man as she thinks I spend too much time on here as it is...;)

Anyway thats just my input, wouldnt disagree with any one of the posts so far and I think everyone that has replied has proved there contribution to the site.

Cheers,
Ben

I vote Ian (IJWHITEMAN), he has organised loads of meets and is now organising a EK9.org ring trip and is a true Honda nut :nice:

I wouldn't mind being on the Moderators enrollment form, as i knowledge in most fields whether relating to EK9's, EG's, Tegs or general topics, and don't use any sort of slang, use this forum 3/4 times a day :nerv:

Il give it a bash, although i don't think I have enough patience for the vast amount of numpties that have started appearing.

If i was a moderator though i would try to make sure this EG Forum that was being talked about doesn't go ahead . I Think that's going to be full of bams

Totally agree with this although I haven’t been a member for long I've been keeping an eye on the forums for along time and these guys have produced a lot of useful information and inspired me in various ways. As soon as I joined the forum I knew what was expected in terms of behaviour, as mentioned before I really like the atmosphere here defiantly in favour of keeping it this way.

Think we may need to have a vote :nice:
