so, this seemed like a good idea :slap: but I wanted a daily to replace the turbo 9 in the winter, and I love mine so much I wanted another ek9, but didn't really fancy paying the price most people are asking these days.
So I saw this and snapped it up :run:
I believe all the old owners are on here/are known to people on here..

It's the same age as my black one, been in the same country the same amount of time, but sadly not even a speck on the condition of my black one :nono: but I thought I'd save it anyway and bring it back to its former glory!
It really is a sorry sight atm so prepare yourself!

So there is nothing left that really makes it a type R anymore, it's my little ej9 rep atm!

Now the engine bay has had time spent on it recently, it's got a B16A2 out of a VTI in it now, high mileage but i've been sent evidence of it running and seems fairly good. will do me as a daily beater to get it on the road for sure ! Just need to put power steering res in, and fill radiator and I think it should be good to go! Hubs and struts have been off and powdercoated and look pretty tidy too :)

Now the awful bit...
it's very holey... theres about 6 holes in the floor pan, the boot seems solid, but the arches - especially the o/s one are pretty bad. no holes and the wheel arch itself is solid, but round the edge its pretty awful.

I mean, it could definitely be worse right?!
I've got almost the whole car in spares so I dont need *too* much for it now.

Welding first, then start swapping the interior out the turbo 9, and collecting the bits to make her a type R again :)

Time will tell if this was a good idea or not :alone:

From the rusty examples I've seen the worst place for rust is right in the corners of the passenger foot wells(rear)
Behind the seam sealer it just seems to rot away.

I like it! Its certainly not as rotten as many from your photos.

Many seem to yoyo like this between stripped and built up. Its a bizarre thing...but all those ek3/ej9s have got their ctr bits from somewhere!

Poor EK9, It's had the soul sucked out of it lol, Looks like a fun project, Good luck.

Look forward to watching this thread . I had this car years ago .

good luck nicole!

Good luck with her Nicole, at least 3 people used the car as a daily year round so it shows. I had no clue about these cars when I bought it which didn't help!
