Which cams for my setup ?

Hello,

I rebuilt my engine few time ago and i'm planning on getting some cams for 2013

My bottom end is a 1688cc B16 with 11.3 CR and was I was thinking about Skunk2 Pro1 or RM22x cams but i'm a bit affraid that they could be too agressive for my CR ... So i'm looking for some advices.

I am especially looking for something with primary lobes improved to gain some Hp and torque before VTEC.

What is your opinion about my setup and these cams ?

Stock B16B
Static CR 10.8:1
VTEC
9.6:1
Secondary
10.3:1

Skunk2 Pro1
Static CR 11.3:1
VTEC
10.3:1
Secondary
10.97:1

Possibly more compression that standard.

If I understand correctly, what you are giving me is the Dynamic CR for a stock B16B and for my setup with Pro1 cams.

And if I follow your logic, I even could use bigger cams like Pro 2. It sounds quite interesting.

It's not a fool proof way of looking at it, but since it is DCR that you try and correct with compression when going with bigger cams, it is helpful to know where you stand.

Yes of course ! I understand this but the problem is to find a good formula to calculate the DCR and I don't have one ... that's the reason why I created this Thread

It's not easy, but I've got it all to hand.

I just need IVC timing, or a lobe center and duration spec and I can work it out for you.

The secondary lobes are a bit dodgy as I have no idea if the advertised duration specs sit on the same lobe centers as VTEC.
