As above, im trying to get to the bottom of a thirsty b16 vti. my gauge is sitting at about the quarter way mark even after a 15 mile drive, where does everyones sit?

Id have thought like most cars it would sit half way. Im thinking my coolant sensor might be to blame, or thermostat, anyone agree?

My ej9 always sat half way and so does my EP3
All my fords seemed to be quite vage though but I would say it should be half way
Just swap the thermostat, there not exactly expensive so won't hurt to much

Most ek9's i get seem to be about 1/3 or not quite on the half way mark.
Dunx

cheers guys, ill replace stat and sensor, hoping this is partly the reason my mpg is pretty bad.

I thought it would affect the mpg by running richer. Its got decat and catback mongoose exhaust and a long arm induction kit. cheers

Try termostat first, cheap as chips to replace and they do fail quite often, I had to replace mine when I got my 9, and I had exactly the same symptoms as yours...

ive noticed this also in my ek..the guage will ususally sit 1/4 way up when warm with crusing (off vtec) driving...but if i start revving the car and givving it vtec it goes up usually bang smack half way nd goes back down 1/4 mark if i ease off for a bit and keep of vtec..i just taught it was a honda way lol

Was yours drinking the juice? and did it solve it?

New one ordered anyway, ill post back on this after friday to let you know for people in the future. cheers

3 bars out of 6 on my S2000 dials, used to sit just below half before the conversion

Hi, did this help in the end? Or did you figure out what the issue was?
