Well at the minute i'm driving a CW EK9 RX and i'm thinking about getting a new car. I have two in mind, one is the DC5 and the other is the Silvia S15 spec R. I love the 9' but just want a change. Just after opinions on what you guys think I of these and what you would go for.

if you've never tried a rwd i'd give that a shot next. i loved it when i had a play about in a 200sx.

Personally I think anyone who goes from an EK9 to an Integra must be off their rocker, it's not really a change.

If it was me, I'd look into an 04+ S2000 as a cheap, fun, instantly trackable car or something four-wheel drive and turbo like a Type R Scooby or some kind of Mitzi Evo.

Out of the two, I would hands down go with the S15. There is someone on PH who wants to swap their S15 with an EK9 too.

I would say the S15, as they look awesome, but be aware it will feel crude compared to the EK9 and they are not that fast as standard.

K20 EG.

Or s2000, or a good old evo, scoob type r.

s15 or type r impreza .

s15 might be more fun but impreza is savage quick car .

If you dont get another honda/dc5 imprzas are so much fun i spent 11k on my sti engine 400hp @1 bar base map before it was stolen went through 2 forged engines ie cosworth parts they are to soft so if you want the most fun and bang for your buck 8mr evo or 8/6rs. My flat mate is on his second mr and a pump boost controler/avcr full3" walbro and a ecoteck will see 380hp+. He went from a tuned dc2 but hes got my ek 2 still play with vtec good luck if you do go to the dark side keep us informed what u get

Personnaly if you can afford the insurance and running costs ect.. I'd consider an evo of some kind. I've always wanted one but it's all about your needs ect..

Any other reasons why your getting rid of the 9? That might help you decide what you want from the new motor. :)

Dale.

Thanks for all the ideas guys. I have looked at the S2000 and do like them, as for the evo's and Impreza's there are too many around in my opinion. I know there are a lot of them for good reason as they are fun and fast. I wanted something that you don't see alot of. I might even just keep the 9' as it is an awesome car and buy some more goodies instead.
I've already added some miester's, hardrace bushes, AEM V2 and rota slips.

I was going to go to a dealer and p/x mine then finance the rest. But 12k max is the amount I had in mind. But if I was to keep the '9 I would have £700 a month to play with.

Evo 6RS is the natural progression. 10K will get you a mint low miles version and if you wait you will get one will lots of goodies from Japan as in standard form they come with crappy brakes, suspension and seats.

If you can stretch to it buy an EVO, I have had 3 of them, a 5GSR, a 7GSR and a 9GT in last 7years. They are reliable and trouble free as a rule. Obviously older the car/higher milage you may run into problems as with any car. Good power to be had from basic mods as someone said.
I sold mine due to work situation BUT when I get back on my feet again thats exactly where I will be going back to, hopefully an 8MR or RS or a 9Gt again or RS if I can find one. A 7GSR are good value at the moment and with basics like exhaust, fuel pump, an Evo 9 turbo 380BHP and similar torque. Spend time finding a good Evo, buy a pot and it will haunt you and cost you severly. Look on Mitsubishi Lancer Register if you are intrested, very good site, lots of info, good traders and good helpful members.

Imprezas are trouble IMO and not small problems either, normally engine or pistons melting, dont matter if they are Type R coupes or WRX, wouldnt touch one with a barge pole from what I have seen of them with friends and people I know who work on them.

This was my 9GT before I sold it
