As winter is just about here, im wondering, is there any places in Scotland that offer a full wire brush and Waxoyl treatment? Reason im not under sealing is , ive been told that under seal can trap rust and start to "sweat", causing moisture buildup between it and the existing layer - Total opposite effect of what it should be doing.

Im located in Perth and do not mind travelling. Cost isnt that much of an issue either. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

ive never heard of underseal 'sweating' and causing problems. ive used it many times and its done the job for me. pretty sure jordan101 is in your area and does undersealing, be worth sending him a message

Yep, send Dan (aka jordan101) a PM, I'm sure he can sort you out!

Just get a wire brush, maybe a drill with a wire brush wheel, a paintbrush and a pot of underseal.....and get busy one Saturday.

Its not a bad job to do at all, save yourself the money and do it yourself I say.

Just ensure that the surface is totally clean and dry before underseal is applied. That way you can pretty much ensure that no moisture/water/dirt is trapped underneath

Cheers for the info guys! Ill give Dan a shout.
Really not got the time just now to do it myself, especially with no ramp.

sorry to thread hijak . im just wondering has anyone started doing this in ireland in the same way that Jordan101 offers the service of undersealing
in Scotland.

Good ole Waxoyl is your friend, if you clean/prep properly. Under-seal is fine if you apply it in the summer/dry day and keep on top of it, its when its left to flake, allowing moisture underneath. Or its applied to hide rust rather than prevent it.

Waxoyl is great as it never really dries so doesn't flake/fall off, and if applied warm it seeps into all the seams. Used the stuff into box sections in our Classic Mini's until they were dripping! Even applied it on top of stone chip under arches etc.
