vtec issue ............help

But it wud not have the pressure while been cranked as it wud at 6k wud it?
Yes I done tat at first and it lost power

Was it a compression test or leak down test done? Is the engine smokey? if not I doubt there is any problems with your piston rings. When you put the standard manifold on was there a dip at 6k? i'll ask again, what brand/type manifold have you fitted? any luck with posting that dyno sheet?

i had a compression test done i also had a leak down test done and a oil pressure test ....
yes the dip still appeared at 6k wit stock header
its a buddyclub header,
no luck yet as iv no scanner waitin for the sis to drop hers up will be up asap

Has your tuner tried playing with the cam gears on dyno? I mapped a b18 recently with BC spec 3 cams I know at one point there was a dip around 6k till I dialled them in. What settings are on your cam gears?

mate give your engine builder a slap and tell them to dial the cams in properly, your never ever going to get it to run right set at zero.

I had a race car doing all kinds of crazy **** too the other week dropping vtec intermittent speedo was jumping around... turned out to be a broken wire from the speedo to the Ecu

I know right lol, I didn't like to say it but that's just poor tuning fitting aftermarket cams and leaving them at zero.

The dip was there when the engine was stock? If cam gears are at zero they aint dialled in.

the car made 176 in nov no issues at all it had airbox decat and a tweek map ,

april me clutch was on the way out ,
so had it replaced also fitted a new lsd at that time as mine was gone ,

same time fitted the header and cat back ,
cudn do a run same day as the clutch was to be ran in for 500

so after 500 i had it dyno and this is were the problem began
it was my own fault for not having a dyno befor the work was done

but instantly i put it back to stock but the car continued to lose power
since den the work in the original post has been done with no luck

as it stands the only thing i have not changed is the bottom end

i tink der set to zero i wasn told of any change in them but il double check tomoro what diff wud that make to the car if issue was der befor hand???

Is it a hytech style header? needed to use smaller decat to make it fit?

you need to start at the beginning with it mate and follow a sequence crossing each part of the system that effects the vtec operation,

first off though you need to have those cams checked and dialled in end of, no if buts or anything they will not work at zero, stock cams work at zero Spec3+ are far from stock.

I really would check the speedo/converter and its wiring it could of been disturbed when u did the clutch, an it seems like you have checked or swapped everything else the speedo is part of the vtec sytem its a required input to the Ecu

would this not tro a cel????
it activates vtec we can see it with the oil pressure
so its not issues with speed sensor , wiringing ect

even with stock cams , it done d the same

yeah thats d one

Well that's typical of that style manifold to give a resonance dip around 6k and then power to increase again around 7k I could show you several dyno sheet's of car's I have mapped with same style header and they all have that resonance dip around 6k-ish.
