Uploading Pictures - Photobucket Issues

So now with the vast majority of people's photo bucket accounts being unable to share their picture's to 3rd party hosts, I am in the same position, and I need to update my thread.

Only 1 problem though, around about half of the pictures I try uploading via the "Upload a File" button, I get a message saying the file is too big (it's only a picture thats been taken on a phone). I've tried it from my Samsung and Mac with the same outcome.

Other than using another 3rd party source like Flikr, is there any other way around this? How's everyone else getting around this issue?

Did this work

Quite simple, just use a photo editing app to reduce resolution or resize picture, same applies to using a software if posting from a personal computer.

photobucket is scum, trying to charge $400 a year for people to be able to share a picture to a 3rd party site. The amount of dead pictures its caused online is ridiculous

Ive found the forum a pain to upload pics too, seems like anything around 2-3MB struggles to upload. Only way around ive found is resize which is a pain in the dick or if its uploaded somewhere else just right click on the pic, copy link location and paste it here using the image link

Iv recently started a build thread and have abandoned it due to not being able to upload photos

Same problems

Photos to large ect ect.

That's fair enough, I'll take a look into it. A bit of pain constantly doing it with multiple pictures. Think Flikr would be slightly easier (until they hold their pictures to ransom)

It's a pretty ridiculous move in all honesty and I wouldn't be surprised if their business takes a massive decline in activity. I'm more annoyed at all of the useful threads/how to threads that are now rendered almost useless without any pictures!

I can see resizing images constantly would get pretty tedious very quickly to be honest.

Ah really, I'm sure there will be an easy way around it eventually. Just finding it!

agreed, give it a year and they wont exist anymore, i hope. Im already finding threads that are missing important pictures

maybe the mods or @rvm can increase the file size limit when uploading pictures? im not sure how it works so it might not be possible or might cost more to do?

You can resize multiple pictures at the same time on your computer so it's not all that hard. Simply create a folder, copy in the pictures you want to upload, resize them all at the same time, upload them and delete the folder with the resized pictures. Done!

I use an app called "photo and picture resizer"
Resizing a single picture in seconds, replaces the old picture. Then upload via the forum as usual.
I do mulitple uploads from my phone in no time at all.
Tbh its easier amd faster than photobucket was via phone anyway.

Just looked at flikr and you get 1000mb for free, any better deal than that out there?
