Hi guys!

Well my b18c-R engine blew at 1.7 bar on stock block with thick headgasket, arp headstuds and supertech dual valvespring + Ti Retainers. Well, it actually did run great untill I put on some "oem denso coils", and it blew as soon as I got into full boost.

Well, enough of that story. I just got hold on benson sleeved, laskey build b18c engine 84mm x 89mm, so now I'm considering if I also should upgrade the turbo aswell. I mean the rest of my system should support around 500-600hp:

ARP Headstuds
Supertech valve spring og ti retainers
Valvecover with 2 -10an
Hondata intake gasket
Thermal 3" exhaust
ACT 6-puck disc
ACT xtreme pressure plate
Exedy 9lbs flywheel
Hasport 62A engine mounts
OEM torque mounts
Ingals engine damper
AEM water methanole kit
Hondata Traction control
Hondata CPR
ID1000cc injectors
Walbro 400lph fuel pump
AEM fuel rail black
AEM fuel pressure regulator

Turbo:
Full-race ramhorn AC compitabel manifold
Garrett GTX2867r .82 a/r
Full-race 3" DP
Intercooler from Full-race painted black
Tial 44mm wastegate
Tial blow of valve
IC piping from full-race + custom pipe, 2.5"

cooling:

Mishimoto x-ine full-size radiator -16an fittings and hose
Setrab 60 row oilcooler with -10an hose and fittings
Mishimoto sandwich w/thermostat
Spoon thermostat
Spoon fan switch
1.3 bar radiatorcap

I really like the responsivness from the GTX2867r, but with the new engine, I could easily run a lot more power. But the car is used as a daily driver in the summer + circuit racing.

The turbos I consider is the GTX3071r or GTX3076r, GEN 2 of course. I would love the 76 because it will support more power, but how much slower spool and shorter wideband would it be?

Anyone running these turbos?

ive had 2 of the 3 turbos you mention.
i couldnt get 1.7bar out of my gtx2867 gen1 though, too much intake heat and it was clearly fading away at the top of the rev range.

i jumped from that to a gtx3071r gen1, also stepped up from 0.63 to 0.82 AR exhaust housing.
mine gets the full 1.7bar by 4500RPM on an 1800cc bottom end, stock b16b head.

Cool. I have the .82 a/r on my GTX2867 know, maybe it was therefore I managed to get 1.7bar. But since you mention it, I actually recall that if it got hot, I couldn't get more then 1.4-1.5 bar on it.

So In theory maybe I should get full boost around 4500rpm with a gtx3076 gen 2 with the 2l engine?

i wouldnt call that an unreasonable target on 2000cc

Thanks man. I'll try to keep my thread updated. Unfortunatly photobucket wants money to show my old pictures :p

yeah they ruined mine aswell

Just read this, looks interesting, how's it coming along?

Hi,

I ordered the gtx3076 gen2 with .82a/r. I also decided to rebuild my head, and it should be ported and finished by Monday.

Spec:
Integra b18c6 head
Oem itr cam and camdrive
Ferrera comp Plus valve std
Ferrera 85lbs valve springs and ti retainers
Ferrera valve keepers
Ferrera valve seals
Ferrera valve guides

I’m hoping to drop the new engine by the next weekend with the new turbo. I’ll keep you updated.

Unfortunately the dyno day didn’t go as I planed. My water/meth started to throw out false errors, a lot of boost leak and the intake coupling impoled Over 1.7 bar.

Results with boost leak and imploding intake after 7500 rpm:
503hp@7400
548nm@5800(it starts to leak badly from here)

Video from a street pull. Boost by gear.

I managed to get it leak free and fixed the intake. I almost ran 2.2 bar on 9000rpm, and the car was insane, but sadly the oil pump failed.
