** All Weight Figures were taken from the Manufacture's Site or Brochure.

I have more in an Excel sheet when I get home I'll post.

Also my personal input. 15's are gear'd more towards a Track wheel due to it's Lighter Weight, Smaller Overall diameter tires, And the smaller tires weight less which inter is less Rotational & Un-Sprung weight. 16's look more of a show type wheel as it's a little bigger and "Fills" out the fender more.

15" Benefits:
- Light Weight (Reduced Rotational & Un-Sprung Weight)
- Smaller Tires
- Lower FD Simulation when using Smaller than OEM Diameter size Tires

has anybody measured the overall weight of a lightweight 15" wheel with tire compared to a lightweight 16" wheel with tire

the rolling radius of a tire is kept the same wouldnt a 16" tire be lighter? (less rubber)

so effectivly 15" with tires could weigh the same as 16" with tires? thats just me thinking out loud

any proof?

Kind of a late reply but that all depends on both the weight of the Wheel & the Tire.

For Example.
We'll use SSR Type-C Wheels
15x6.5+30 = 8.7lbs in 4x100
16x6.5+30 = 11.9lbs in 4x100

Tires we'll use Dunlop Direzza DZ101's
195/55/15 = 20lbs @ 23.4" OD
205/45/16 = 19lbs @ 23.2" OD (195/50/16 also = 19lbs but with a OD of 23.7")

Our 15" Combo would weight: 28.7lbs while our 16" Combo weighs: 30.9lbs
Although the OD of the 16" tire is smaller the extra weight of the wheel brought up the overall weight.

Now this can all change between Manf. of both the Wheel & Tire but this is a general idea.

Also my "Weight List" post has been updated. :)

You asked for the Weight of a Wheel by giving Spec of a Tire/Tyre?
If your asking about the weight of the Tyre just Google the name and look for the Manf. Website.

Anyone weigh the Rota Slipstream 15x7 model? Rota claims to have 12.9 lbs has anyone took a measure?
