Hi everyone,
My name is Alan, and I’m starting a deeply personal and passionate new project here in South Africa. I’ve taken an old S03 chassis and I’m on a mission to transform it into a proper EK9 Type-K tribute – but with a twist that makes it truly unique.
This won’t be just another build. It will be a full JDM FD2 swap with a K20A engine, built with Toda internals, performance-focused, and visually striking. Every bolt, every panel, every upgrade will be documented step by step on YouTube – not just as a car build, but as a journey of restoration, redemption, and the pursuit of a dream.
Although my heart has always been with B-series engines, this project is about standing out and creating something that speaks for itself. A clean, purposeful EK9 Type-K – with the potential to develop full carbon Fiber body panels that we can eventually produce and sell to help support my family and other enthusiasts who share this dream.
South Africa is going through tough times, and many of us are struggling. I lost my first dream build due to financial difficulties – a reality so many of us can relate to. But this time, I’m determined not to let the dream slip away.
That’s why I’m reaching out to the EK9 and Honda communities:
If you have parts, technical advice, guidance, or are willing to sponsor or support in any way – even just sharing the project or joining in as a group effort – it would mean the world to me.
I truly believe in the power of community and the shared passion we all have for these cars. With your help, we can bring this project to life and create something special, not just for me, but for everyone who’s ever had to put their dreams on hold.
Thank you for reading this far and thank you in advance for any help or encouragement. Let’s make the EK9 Type-K a reality.
