turbocharging the b16b, my turbo b16b build/log opinions welcome.

I read the post, but I thought it would still take quite a lot of force to shift it into 1 at those speeds. Regardless, good luck on your project.

Clutch is still fine?

oh your right, it took a tremendous amount of force, but i thought it was just 3rd gear being difficult and i was sick and tired of babying it so i just jammed it in with all my might... luckily the clutch is ok, the only other problem is the countershaft bearing on the tans is gone, now the trans howls when i cruise.

I just finished boosting my b16b... I had a lot of people saying that i was stupid etc and im DESTROYING an amazing engine etc.... But its my money etc... and of course i dont want to blow up my engine, so everything will have to be done right! Im telling you now. You are going to love your 6b with turbo! Its going to make you think "why didnt you do it sooner" and why doesnt everyone do it! Yes the b16b has high comp.. but as you said, The states have the best tuners in the world!!!!! So you will be fine. Just make sure you fuelling system is perfect etc...
Gd luck with the build... and well done for carrying on even with your set backs... and just read your post on the 70mph 1st gear run! im quite impressed!!!

thanks for the support, as soon as i replace the main bearings and rod bearings i should be back on track. im just wondering if i should replace the countershaft bearing on the trans as well... i know i need to do it but i just dont have the time or the $$. your right fuel does need to be perfect, thats why i bought the aem ems, 440cc injectors, walbro fuel pump etc... cant wait to post some results :nice: if you dont mind me asking what was your set up and did you ever put it on a dyno... if so do you have any numbers?

no my car is running like ****... I havent finished with my fuel system. I still need my injectors, i only have a fuel pump... I can onjly rev to 7000rpm right now as my injectors are maxed out!
But all i can say is thatthe car pulls hard!!! one thing i def reccomend is APR HEAD STUDS!!! my head is lifting a little!!! so im only taking it easy now til it get sorted out.
I thiough B16b was fun... but a b16b turbo is crazy!!!!!!

Nice! :wow: do you have a on board video of your car? :woot:

quick update:

engines back in changed the rod/main bearings, added some more parts :D should be done this week!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Will you be having a run-in period before a dynorun? ;)

no i think ill just street tune it, aem ems makes it really easy to street tune, ill probably dynotune when i get back, for those of you who dont know im moving out of state for a few months so as soon as my car is ready ill drive it 1 time then i have to park it at my aunts house :angry2: ill try and get lots of pics but video will have to wait  :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

I kinda understand your frustration. I had to be away for a week when the turbocharging project of my previous car was completed, I so couldnt wait to be back despite it being a leisure holiday.

But a few months?
Atleast you'll have some GREAT fun once youre back. :)

downpipe finished today, we ended up making the downpipe and B pipe one piece to avoid using another v-band clamp, the main goal was to increase ground clearence which was already tight with the 3inch dp and exhuast. tomorrow i will wire up my injectors, put in my axles and hopefully start the car, if all goes well monday we tune it and drive it :D
