For those of you who don't know, Tapatalk is an app for smartphones, tablets etc. which supports various forums and boards.

I'm a member of several forums including Type-R Owners & Civiclife who are both activated on Tapatalk which means I can access their forums from the app. It makes browsing far easier, less data consuming & faster than logging in to the forum each time you visit in Safari or whatever browser you use. The app also provides notifications for received PM's or topic replies etc.

I thought this could be of benefit to all the people who come to this forum on a smartphone or tablet.

This is a link to the website - Tapatalk

Don't know if any admins here can activate it? I believe it would be a great thing to have for this forum! :win:

x2

Tapatalk is so much nicer to browse forums on than a phone browser, would be a great addition to the forum experience

When I installed the forum software, It caused serious problems with the private messaging system.

Later I decided to buy "branded free (BYO)" app, and I paid for it and I didn't receive the app or any support, they stole my money.

Thats the reason we are not running that app and probably never will. :(

rvm, maybe we could look into a responsive theme?

On the other side, if you find browsing on your phone not easy then your screen is probably too small :D Good reason to buy a new one :D :p

Yes, I'm working on a "optional" responsive theme :win:

Cool. Good responsive beats any seperate app for website usage.

Yep, I'll have to hire a programmer, since this will have to be done from scratch :nerv:

Can't you just hand over the current theme to a programmer/web designer in India?

We could also look for a theme on the net to buy or for free.....and change the CSS a bit to fit our needs? I could do that...

I never found browsing on my phone any difficult, and my screen is no particularly large either... How much is this costing you rvm and does the forum generate enough income to cover the costs? I'm sure forum members could chip in a bit if this would benefit user's experience.
