theres loud and then theres too loud this will be rediculously loud

well im gona use a integra type r back box, as in a oem integra one.

just thinking it will give me better exhaust flow.

still nto sure though

Unless it is a drag racer, that will be horrible for anyone within 5 miles of it! :nono:

Have a search through the forum about this. I'm sure rvm did this a few years back and ending up loosing power/torque?

I have an APEXi N1 that is a straight through straight pipe. It goes under the fuel tank and not round all the suspension. i have also got an OEM dc2 back box for sale.
Let me know, Dunx

did you do this in the end? i was thinking the same and running a straight thru pipe from header and using it on my ek9 backbox? Wots the sound like and was there any performance gains?

i found that you can get a sportex mild steel straight thru b-pipe on ebay for £70 delivered...not sure on the pipe diameter tho...

It was a straight through pipe that ended just before the fuel tank, and yes I ended loosing torque.

You'll have better airflow if you install a straight through exhaust, if you don't install a resonator it'll be VERY loud.

The best straight thru system I've ever seen is the RS*R one (only available in japan right now) for the dc2 and ek9, but the problem was that the exhaust passed just below the rear axle, it was a pain in the ass to pass on speed bumps etc etc. Not good for a daily drive car.

The only straight thru design I've seen for the ek9 that I'm actually keen to use is this one:

The big problem? you'll have to remove the fuel tank, lol!! :P

In my opinion you should get a 2.25" or 2.5" (depending on your mods) exhaust like buddy club, skunk2 that are made using mandrel bends. Best option for your daily drive car :D

did u use a bigger bore pipe though or 2.25"?
and did you gain BHP?

I took my exhaust off from the manifold back one day for shiggles on my VTi, it was mega loud as in full on race car loud. The noise is fvcking spectacular, specially when heel and toeing down the gears and it felt stronger at the top end but even I could'nt live with the noise day to day, and loud cars don't bother me that much. :nerv:

Surely using an OEM integra back box is a bit of a waste if you have striaght through pipe from front to rear as surely your exhuast flow is only going to be as good as the weakest part this being the OEM backbox.
i persoanlly would stick a spoon n1 or similar on there i personally wouldn't bother putting striaght piping to an oem back box.
i have no experience in exhausts but i'm thinking logically as surely everyone would not buy expensive exhuast everyone would just weld scafolding from header to backbox to gain power.

i'm open to critism if i'm wrong and if you're polite :)
