Looking at having a new steering wheel for Xmas, but I'm undecided on what to get, so hoping some people can share their experiences

I'd thought about a suade wheel but I'm concerned about weather the suade will last,

Then I thought a leather wheel would be better but I'm not sure about the grip with gloves on.

I have some omp gloves, not sure which model but they are suade type material palmed.

I use them for karting on poly kart wheels they are ok and I don't have problems with gripping the wheel but I also hook my thumbs around and only need to do smaller movements in a kart so it's not quite the same.

This is one of the wheels I was thinking of

Anyone got any insight, wisdom or opinions?

I can't drive my car with gloves on and oem wheel. Was fine with power steering but without the pas my hands are slipping off it.
Suede wheel in but yet to track it so can't speak about that really.
For me no PAS and leather wheel is a dangerous combo.

I've got a leather Personal Neo Grinta, used it on track a couple of times with gloves on and I didn't have any issues with my hands slipping :) But I run PS so can't comment if you're not running it!

Cheers for the replies,
I do suffer from the old sweaty palms so gloves will be required on track!

Yes forgot to mention I've no P/S.
currently Oem lsd but probably switch to plated at some point.

@Tegiwa Imports
Do you have any offers coming up on personal wheels in your 25 days of Christmas?

Same here always have sweaty palms.

A suede wheel combined with gloves will stick like glue!

My issues are on a smooth oem wheel but tbh I'm having issues with the whole steering effort in my car anyway, any lock past 90degrees and its massive effort

So ended up going for the personal grinta suade, yellow stitch, (to go with the ek9 yellow needles of course)

Also went for a nrg short boss and a nrg quick release adaptor

That's a decent choice.
The NRG stuff is pretty good quality

I hope it is, it cost enough even with the discount,
It's almost impossible to get out of the car with out looking like a cripple with the high sided seats, cage and oem wheel

Yeah it's pricey stuff alright.
Perhaps your getting old?

Same wheels as mine, other than mine is leather! Great choice mate
